Meh >_>
I don't think they're going to localize this game. I've lost all hope. But of course, you can still discuss the game here and whatnot.
most likely, but i hope the translation team gets to the story, i don't care how much time it takes

come on level 5 get it together!

I'm not sure I understand. Are you talking about an official localized port of IE3 for the DS? The game from 2010 right, for the DS? Has Level 5 announced plans to do that? Although, it would be awesome if development of software for the DS continued for several more years, the way that it continued past the expected commercial lifespan for the Atari 2600, Neo Geo AES, GBA and PS2. I just wonder why there is speculation on IE3 being localized by Level 5 at this point.

What game would you recommend to someone who's played none of the IE series and who doesn't know any Japanese words, as the best Inazuma Eleven 'experience' on DS?

I think a 3DS release is a good thing considering the piracy issue on the DS. But it begs the question, why not localize the Inazuma Eleven 1, 2, 3 compilation instead? The only problem i can find with this is that a 3DS release sucks for american fans of the series...

So apparently, IE 3 Spark and Bomber have been announced for the 3DS this summer in Europe. I'll get the source ASAP, if this is even real.
what if they C&D the ds translation patch? anybody who isn't a 3ds owner will get screwed. T.T

By the way, could someone answer?

Well, I find it quite a good idea. I mean, the Inazuma games have been released with a big delay in Europe and they've been also modified (iirc, the first Inazuma game released in Europe had some aspects from the second game of the series), seeing as the second game was released in Europe last year, it's quite a good idea to release the third for the 3DS.

Not only will piracy be avoided, but the game will have better graphics. It's quite a win win situation, while releasing the 3DS compilation of the first three games could make people that bought the first two games for DS a bit disappointed. Only downside is that people that don't have an EUR console won't be able to play, but I doubt most of them would purchase the game anyway, so that's not a big problem for Nintendo.
Also, most people that own a DS, also own a 3DS over here, so they probably will have no problems selling the game.

Well, the games have a story which is followed up in each game... Personally I'd recommend playing the first game before the others, otherwise there's a lot of the game you'll miss... Playing the second without the first one will get you a bit lost in the game world.

Yes, and you can get Inazuma Eleven 2 moves in the first game, so that's pretty good.

Yeah, thats why it's a good thing they're bringing up the 3DS game, it probably has stuff that doesn't exist in the DS one, not to mention it has plenty of more characters... From Nintendo Direct they said it had like 2200 characters we could recruit... That's like... Absurdly a lot! I don't think the DS games ever had that many... At most 400 or something.

If they change graphics and whatnot, then I'll be fine with it. But what if they're just taking Inazuma Eleven Legend Of Mamoru Endou, and ripping out the 3rd game?

yall im torn... ive been hacking away at tales of phantasia GBA (the USA version) and have so many documents of reverse engineering i've done
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I just found out that the EU version is better in literally every way, better sound quality, better lighting, and there's even a patch someone made to make the text look nicer
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
Do I restart now using what i've learned on the EU version since it's a better overall experience? or do I continue with the US version since that is what ive been using, and if someone decides to play my hack, it would most likely be that version?
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@TwoSpikedHands, I'll preface this with the fact that I know nothing about the game, but, I think it depends on what your goals are. Are you trying to make a definitive version of the game? You may want to refocus your efforts on the EU version then. Or, are you trying to make a better US version? In which case, the only way to make a better US version is to keep on plugging away at that one ;)
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
I'm not familiar with the technicalities of the differences between the two versions, but I'm wondering if at least some of those differences are things that you could port over to the US version in your patch without having to include copyrighted assets from the EU version
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
@Sicklyboy I am wanting to fully change the game and bend it to my will lol. I would like to eventually have the ability to add more characters, enemies, even have a completely different story if i wanted. I already have the ability to change the tilemaps in the US version, so I can basically make my own map and warp to it in game - so I'm pretty far into it!
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I really would like to make a hack that I would enjoy playing, and maybe other people would too. swapping to the EU version would also mean my US friends could not legally play it
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I am definitely considering porting over some of the EU features without using the actual ROM itself, tbh that would probably be the best way to go about it... but i'm sad that the voice acting is so.... not good on the US version. May not be a way around that though
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
    I appreciate the insight!
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@TwoSpikedHands just switch, all the knowledge you learned still applies and most of the code and assets should be the same anyway
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    and realistically they wouldn't

be able to play it legally anyway since they need a ROM and they probably don't have the means to dump it themselves

why the shit does the shitbox randomly insert newlines in my messages
  • Veho @ Veho:
It does that when I edit a post.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It inserts a newline in a random spot.

do y'all think having an sd card that has a write speed of 700kb/s is a bad idea?
trying to restore emunand rn but it's taking ages... (also when I finished the first time hekate decided to delete all my fucking files )
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@Karma177 that sd card is 100% faulty so yes, its a bad idea
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
even the slowest non-sdhc sd cards are a few MB/s
  • Karma177 @ Karma177:
@The Real Jdbye it hasn't given me any error trying to write things on it so I don't really think it's faulty (pasted 40/50gb+ folders and no write errors)
