I just got around to trying your patch and it didn't work followed the instructions you gave and everything
I even tried multiple roms and even dumped my own on all the roms I got this :

Damn, I got the failed checksum myself. I already have the patched version from way back, but I wanted to see if the above problem was 'user error'. It would seem it isn't. I know my rom is clean (CRC32 is 69d628e8). What is the CRC32 for the correct ROM to apply the Bloody Platinum patch? And what region (U) or (E)?

No, no it isn't. My rival still always picks treecko even when I pick treecko. The latest version would be the on that has the "Starter bug fixed," in which you get Sinnoh starters instead of a choice between Treecko, Charmander, and Totodile.

The reason you are getting the "Failed! Input checksum is invalid" is because you dont have a clean version of the rom. You need to find a clean rom. i had to download it from 5 different places to find an actual clean rom.

I downloaded a clean version of Platinum. When i go to patch it, it no longer says "Failed! Input checksum is invalid". Now it says:

"Patch applied successfully.

Replacing output file with temporary file ...
Success!"

So it should work right? NO! its still the original Platinum rom!

I thought i figured it out but for some reason, even though it says "patch applied successfully", its still the original rom. Can anyone help me?
