Nreal Air AR glasses adds PS5, Xbox Series X/S & Steam Deck support

AR glasses manufacturer Nreal has expanded support for its latest hardware, the recently reviewed Nreal Air, to include PS5, Xbox Series X/S and Steam Deck. Using the Nreal Adapter, which previously opened the AR glasses' compatibility to iOS devices and the Nintendo Switch, gamers can have access to a 130" portable HD screen.

However, the screen effect is only in mirror mode, meaning that the virtual display is a static one which will follow the user wherever they point the glasses to and I find the effect to quickly wear off. A more compelling experience is through 3DoF windows which the device supports via its Nebula launcher. Through this, gamers can have access to 3DoF, 201" window that is spatially fixed for cloud gaming through the built-in browser.

Such an effect is also accessible via the Nebula app on M1/M2 chip-equipped Apple laptops. This enables users to have multiple, virtual windows open for multitasking.

Nreal also announced today the launch of an AR version of YouTube, which was built on Nreal's Spatial Browser and APIs provided by YouTube. This YouTube AR experience features a gigantic waterfall design for an immersive video browsing experience.

Waiting on an AR glass capable of doing 3DoF on consoles. It really strains your eyes when trying to look at the corners and edges of the screen, not to mention it's also blurry there too
