But I won't claim it's mine, because it was independently discovered by a bunch of people, I held mine back until the first public version of it appeared (by Adubbz)
your refutation to the fact that nosigchk was made by rei is that.... lots of people discovered it on their own
huh.

by the way
But you're just avoiding my question. Did you write the piracy patches yourself, or base them on someone elses work? Inquiring minds want to know :)

This sounds extremely familiar to a repack. In private servers for mmos, people would take code from a bunch of different source codes written by different people and add a few bits of things themselves, in reality, it was just pseudo code to make it seem they actually did work. This was like in 2009 days, MapleStory servers to be exact.

I know you want it to become a CFW, and this may look like one to you, but in reality it’s just a mess of work forged together to look like something new.

This CFW scene is still too new.

Where have I seen this before ? ;)

nosigchk as a patch first appeared here: https://switchtools.sshnuke.net/firmware/fs_patches.json and then here https://github.com/rajkosto/hekate/commit/3e058e761794dd707448ce3a4c82980dd16f78ba ;)

Sorry Raj, are you going to provide credit to the people who you borrowed those ES sig patches from, or claim that you wrote piracy enabling patches all by yourself?

This has nothing to do with ReiNX, so please don't bother bring it up, this is your thread, we're talking about your pack here :)

I made the IPS files myself. Don't think you can find them anywhere else before.
My pack includes them because apparently you don't have a CFW without that feature (it has to be USER-FRIENDLY, after all, so has to have what the USERS here on GBATemp would want).

I just find it funny you released your ips files just several short hours after es patches were included in reinx's latest build

ReiNX includes IPS files ? I'm sorry, I don't follow that project that closely. Maybe if I released without testing/supporting all firmwares I might have been able to include them sooner, but I don't work that way.\
No content from the ReiNX repository was used during the making of this pack, I didn't even look at it after the initial release some weeks ago.

Yup, not denying you made the IPS files, I bet you built the kip files too :) what I'm asking is where the patches themselves came from, you did initially say this had full attribution, but it seems you're purposely leaving some attribution out :(

These patches were known to everyone and their grandma for weeks now, don't know what this "latest build" business has to do with it.
Just like "nosigchk" was independently discovered by many people, so was this.

And this, ladies and gentlemen, is why the homebrew scene has lost all respect and people would rather pay money to a company like TX.

To clarify, by 'this' I meant the wonderful display in this thread, not the release.

I feel sorry for the mods who have to deal with this bloody crap all day everyday.

Ok ? I do not follow the project so I wasn't aware of this ?

All that is wanted it to be known where the actual patches came from and if it was from @Drakia's patches, that it is credited as such

I didn't come up with those patches myself, they were an effort by the ReiSwitched team and community :) I just ported them. I'm assuming Raj did the same, and I'm not sure why he can't just attribute then to the people who created them.

Because they didn't come from there. I did not follow anything by that "team" since the initial release and the way they were handling their "community" and Discord server turned me off from ever returning.
So you say you've had them for weeks. Does that mean you made these purely piracy enabling patches yourself?

I feel like I'm walking on circles.

Either way, you're either pro piracy, or anti attribution. Either one is hilarious and ironic in its own way :)

I wonder if that was the point of game streaming
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    But it's a dead end
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@Psionic Roshambo, people who cant download it can still play the game

If your internet speeds are fast enough. Streaming 4k takes alot. I used to only have 20mb sec, and 4k struggled. Now I have 300mb sec and 4k plays fine.

Did you feed the hamster in your internet router? It prob died and is running slow now.

@BigOnYa, why did you start saying my pc has a hamster in the first place?

I think Game streaming should work like this.... Local Hardware able the run the game fine, game engine and common assets stored locally, all FMV and music and textures could be streaming

Or free government supplied high speed internet be nice also. Like Obama care. Xdqwerty that's cool, its time consuming but rewarding once done or playable, to see what you've made from scratch. Animations take forever, but worth it.

    @BigOnYa,
and the visual aspect of the game is quite crude (the sprite that looks best is that of the protagonist just because he is a stickman with sunglasses)

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
There is a bullets behaviour you assign to your character, that makes the code easier, under "behaviours"
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
i meant that when the character is pointing to the right, the bullets spawn where they should, but when he is on the right, they move to the right but the spawn point is incorrect
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Itch.io has lots of free assets also. Under the bullets behavior tab, there is a "rotate bullets" option, can try that. Or in the code can try
    - fire bullet Player.X(PlayerDirection)

That's cool tho, I'm proud of you going back to it, not giving up. It is difficult at first to learn, but fun once you get the hang of it. I think I've watched every tutorial video there is, but I still struggle sometimes to get stuff to work right. But gotta keep trying dif things, and eventually you will get it right.
