What exactly is the error you're getting? does the loading stop at 8 and show an error or the game loads fine but the controller won't respond? Did you test it with HIDTest?

According to instructions, polltype should be 0 for ps3, that's the way it is in the controller.ini in the first post.
I changed polltype to 1 and nintendont worked. I think it's "0" for original controller, and "1" for some third-party controllers. Sometimes instructions could be wrong.. that's just my opinion...

The source code uses a specific function for ps3 controllers when the polltype is 0; so I guess it's possible that not being an original ps3 controller makes it need a different polltype. If you say you have a ps3 controller and it worked for you that way he might as well try.
I tested with Wind Waker NTSC and it makes it possible to play with MCEmu on when you patch it to PAL. I don't have any other game that has that kind of region problems so I can't test it further, but it seems it would work in some cases.
Are you loading nintendont from the Homebrew Channel or using a loader? Did you check that the HID device option was On? Try loading a game and pay attention to the lines that appear while loading, specially the ones that talk about the HID device
I think the folder should be "games" instead; but I'm not sure about that. Did you test the controller.ini using the HIDTest in the first post? Before a message appeared about a missing controller.ini, What is shown in the screen when you load a game now?
Thanks for the video, now I know what the problem is. You're using a controller.ini that doesn't match the controller you're using. To solve this, make sure there isn't a controller.ini in your sd, and run HIDTest, note down the PID and VID values, you must change those in your controller.ini
You should also try every button and see if the numbers that change match with those in the controller.ini (this is easier to do if you have a computer close to the wii.
