That may be true but given the rise of digital sales in the gaming industry, Nintendo cant expect us to fork over as much as the system itself to have a decent library of games digitally. I mean sure sd cards can hold a lot of data but their also really expensive when compared to USB HDD. If the tablet holds a memory card slot and that's the only way to expand storage, then that's a really tough sell for Nintendo.

It's pretty bulky, maybe it'll be able to have an upgraded internal drive, like xbox and playstation can. Also, maybe they'll have multiple storage options, like the Wii U.

Vita uses cartridges. When was the last time you saw a real flashcart for that? (Blackfin doesn't count)

You have a point, but it will take some skill to fit that microsd in there(lengthwise), but who knows, these tiny cartridges can pack a punch

that would fit in a switch cart, even if the components needed to make a flashcard couldn't fit inside the switch cart slot there would be nothing stopping it from poking out the top, or wrapping around the back of the console similar to the psp hard drive from datel
    Warning: Spoilers inside!

that said it's just as possible we see a softmod released first and nobody ever makes a flashcard.......or maybe there will be no hacks ever

Maybe, but I bet my bucket there will be hacks (they said there would be no hacks for 3ds, but look at us now!) anyway, I think softmod is pretty cool :P

You'd need a beefy Micro SD card to put games on but it is possible, it would just take a very long time for us to get it.

There will never be flashcarts. My inside source tells me that each cartridge has a super secret, unique key and the algorithm it will never be cracked (mathematically it would take 82 years adjusting for increases in computing power).

Nintendo pretty much said the same about ds and 3ds and both have flash carts they said the same about gamecube then wii then wiiu aswell would never be able to play pirated games. It's nintendo no matter what security they come up with they always fuck it up spectacularly somehow.

DS and 3DS cartridges did not have unique keys.

No but they did have anti piracy measures that nintendo said would never be broken and no mater what nintendo did the ap was always broken. Also when the wiiu came out nintendo claimed it was the most secure system ever and that it would take at least 80 years to be hacked and look at how that worked out. Nintendos security is always terribly flawed.
