Hello,

A few days ago I bought a Nintendo eShop Card worth 1600 Nintendo Points. I tried to register it into my Wii as usual and after selecting "REDEEM" there appears error 205568.

My Wii is connected to the Internet properly and it is properly connected with my Club Nintendo account. The points ballance does not exceed 10.000 Points.
I tried using the code several times, making sure that I didn't confuse any numbers and there still appears the same error.
Well, my location is set to United Kingdom and I live in Poland (the points were also purchased there). But with Poland set as location, it's impossible to get the Wii Shop Channel working. Is that the core of the problem?

If so, then meh. Logic.

Sounds like a currency issue, trying to use a card registered in the European on a UK account. Try setting the wikis region to Poland and try the card again

Try another european country that fits to the language (and currency) written on the card.
edit: I have bever seen a card with 1600 points with euro as currency. Maybe your card is not from europe?

OK. Then the problem is your connection with club nintendo. (First I thought there is no wii shop in Poland at all and the card is imported.)

edit: Buy a card from the uk or tell Nintendo you moved to poland and loose your club nintendo account.

Not exactly, it's not the first time I'm getting the Wii Points, but the last time I was doing that, the cards were completely different (there were amounts of 1000, 2000 and 3000).
It's the first time I'm using an eShop Card.
All the previous deals with points were no problem, so it can't be about the connection with Club Nintendo, I suppose.
But you're right, I don't think there's a Wii Shop in Poland; the card was bought at a local retailer. Still, I'm sure it's 100% original :P.

It is relatively new that you can use the eshop cards for wii points, too. I never used a card for the wii, but you can use eshop card only in countries with same currency you have in your eshop. Probably this region lock of the eshop-card is valid in the wii shop, too, although there are points.

It says 70zł (that's Polish currency) and "The amount of Nintendo Points to get: 1600" (in Polish) on the cover.
I did some research on the Nintendo site and there it is CLEARLY written, that those eShop Cards are only for Wii U and 3DS.
Is eShop the equivalent of Wii Shop Channel on 3DS and WiiU?

its only going to work on a 3ds or wiiu.
at least to my knowledge, the wii still uses the 'nintendo points' cards.

i'm not sure if those are even sold anymore.

try to return the card

It's sad how the actual card declares that it can be used on Wii U, 3DS AND Wii. Here are some photos:

I'll try to call them this week and if this doesn't help, guess I'll have to sell the card online. I don't think returning is possible (though I own the receipt), because the silver stripe is scratched.
It's a shame, really. When there still were those Nintendo Points cards (the ones that had values of 1000, 2000 and 3000 points respectively), they already were pretty rare in Poland and now, when a bunch of eShop cards has appeared, they just don't work.

Does anyone know whether it is still possible to buy Wii Points via the credit card? Cause it looks like it's the only way left to get some VC goodies.

They replied today, saying that due to high traffic there has been an issue creating Nintendo Network ID and that they resolved it now. But sadly, the problem is still persisting and the same error keeps appearing. I'll wait until the end of the week and if nothing happens, I'll make a call.
Thank all of you for your help ;)!

smokey flavor that reminds me of beef jerkey on top of a really rich kind of bbq sauce. Heat level that is a nice zing, not overwhelming, but it tingles all the way down your throat
