Oh hey, the shell leak was accurate turns out. I like how much more modular it is now, but I'm also glad there's nothing here that necessitates an upgrade from my current disc system.

From what I read, the Slim PS5 will cost $499.99/€549.99/£479.99 with a Disc Drive addon, $449.99/€449.99/£389.99 without and you can buy the Disc Drive addon separately for $79.99/€119.99/£99.99 they also plan to phase out the out OG PS5.

EDIT: The Slim will come with a 1TB SSD too, instead of a 825GB SSD

Hopefully the 1tb ssd isn't soldered to the board this time. The standard size could be a sign of a normal nvme ssd that can easily be replaced if it dies.
