Hacking New 3DSXL with CFW Luma on 11.4 - which card to get?

I just got my New 3dsxl all set up. Running Luma and using my homebrew. I am having fun with the available emulators but would love to play a few Original DS games on it as well. I have some Roms. Which R4 Card should I get, Gold? Which will work with the New XL on 11.4?

Original R4 (max 2 GB which are relatively expensive, must be launched with a homebrew such as "NTR Launcher", unbrickable)

or R4i Gold (r4ids.cn, nothing else), supports SDHC and can be run directly from the slot1 icon, minor risk of spontaneous failure
