Nintendo has a compatible HDD section some whwere on their site. I've had a lot of problems with my (ps4's old 500gb HDD) some adapters work, others does not, others are slow as hell, and the ones that dont work, do work fine with other HDDs, its a real pain. if I had of known I would of just bought the confirmed working HDDs by Nintendo.

I paid 15$ for the Y cable... its a branded one though

ow well, i ordered the wrong one a usb 2.0, thats why mine was so cheap :)

in the mean while, i have 116 games on the hdd now - without problems - without a Y cable.
But just to be sure, i ordered also a 3.0 y cable. But i really dont think its needed for that hdd.

so, a western digital 1tb portable is the way to go :)
