I was watching a movie from my usb thumb stick and when the movie was completed my TV corrupted my usb thumb stick. I formatted the thumb stick with my computer because that was the only way to gain access to it. Luckily it was just a quick format. What I need is a free program that will recover the data. Yea, I'm cheap. There's a few more movies on it that I hadn't watched yet.

Recuva is where I go first, should it fail then

Testdisk and photorec do really well with odd cases like corrupt boot sectors and such like where recuva is more about just getting files that have been deleted.

If the latter fails and it is not a hard drive (which can have repairable faults) or simple things like a bad connection (surprisingly common for me these days) then you might get something if you have NSA/GCHQ level skills but realistically it is gone.

You mean GCHQ right?

Recuva's the easy GUI-based one that'll get data back that's just missing the filesystem pointers and metadata, while TestDisk is the balls-to-the-wall recovery program that'll rip the ghost of BoneMonkey off of GBATemp's fifth server at the bottom of the sea.

If both of those don't get it back, like FAST said, it's gone unless you've got a grand or more to pay a lab.

I want a handheld gaming system with a tablet sized screen, like a 8 or10" screen, with controllers that can detach like the Switch.

I don't see the buzz about a square screen personally. I think there will be a review on the site within a few weeks though if you are interested.

I've put down the money on the Odin 2 Mini since I just love that Vita form factor. Loved the power of the Odin 2 but the size always put me off, this one seems exactly what I've been wanting.
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
I don't care about the square screen it's just nice to hold something you don't have to stretch your arms a foots length
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
All these things expecting to be super huge is overrated just run a type c cable to your TV if you want a big display or in my case screen mirror it

On the go tho I meant, I use my tablet and a Bluetooth controller for retro gaming while sitting on my porch or on long car rides sometimes.
