We are the Internet and we demand everything for free, even when we mess up. Do not question our stupidity
LOL yup, be the exact reason he got banned, running CFW, will get a nice new ID and BOOOM banned again.

What a waste.

Guy should at least remain offline if he isnt going to pay for his games.

Dirty pirates demanding everything for free.

its not like PS3 games cost much these days, I admit I pirated the shit out of the PS3, never really bought a game, kept the fucker offline.

but games are that cheap now i end up buying them.

going trough the risk of getting an already banned one. have 2 consoles piled in your room for whatever reason.. and the trouble of sell the old one\new one
also, 100 bucks is a lot of money for some people..

Well you most likely did not take the righy precautions to avoid getting banned. Did you just log in with cfw still active?? Did you clear your game history? Did you disable sys calls?
Or is this related to piracy or cheating online? No one is going to waste a CID on you dude.... It's worth way too much. If you aren't careful, or you do something that pisses Sony off... They SLAM reality in your face.

Most ps3 jailbreak newbies are gonna come across this even if they use a psn spoof. If it was your main account tough luck mate. Always play it safe like using an alternate account or stay off of PSN entirely.
Probably wasn't entirely his fault there are a few ppl here going around claiming they never been banned for a long time with a psn patch, so it gives folks the wrong idea. Sony's CFW detection is pretty spot on, even with spoofs you are playing with fire.

I mean.... If you go online with cfw on any console it's your fault :/ PSN patch is nice and does help a lot. But there is other things that are needed before you log in... wiping game history is a big one... without that being wiped and being read only Sony can see all of the homebrew you have played.... And that alone is enough to ban you.

We need a massive sticky warning people not to use their main account on a CFW machine. Goodbye all those PSN purchases.

They haslve dedicated on board chips that aren't tweaked like x64/x32 afaik
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
but its a custom os for both of them
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
    designed for only specific hardware
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
so you have to learn to emulate that specific hardware which isn't as easy as you'd think
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
It's a locked down Linux distro basically
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think the only custom hardware is to do with the SSD and a security chip
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    Probably combined in one chip
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
They place married security chips onto boards iirc

Damn Frontier is offering 5Gbps now lol

I honestly can't recommend any of the big 3 this years I'd say buy a rog ally z1 if we're being honest
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:

  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Every games basically cross platform they only have about 6 titles making it worth the $600 price tag
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Didn't see much need for a console, all the advantages have kind of disappeared
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
the ps3 used to support installing linux because the cpu was so powerful
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Then the games are $70 and they want to reboot and refresh the same game every year
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
The ps3 was always Linux they just found a way to make it open source
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
I'm avoiding buying from the big 3 at all atm
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
At one point PC game pads where poorly supported, loading a game had setup, it was complicated. Now it's almost as easy as a console.
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
nintendo needs to up their game soon
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Yeah even bt support for Xbox one controllers are just as easy as pairing
    +1
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
considering the steamdeck can emulate the switch (yikes) theres almost 0 reason to buy the switch apart from playing online and using cartridges
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Xinput and 360 dongles were a driver nightmare
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
I remember having to manually put in drivers and what not
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    Yeah the 360 dongles sucked
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
