Hey there all!
Y'know, I've had my Wii hacked for about 2-3 years now and I don't do much with it. Now lately I've been playing it more than ever because I've sold/let go of a lot of other activities in my life because of financial reasons.

Right now I have CFG USB Loader, Wii MC for the occasional music or video, Neogamma for GC backups and considering to get DIOS MIOS as well.

I was wondering what else I could do with my hacked Wii. Not a big fan of emulators so I can't think of a single other thing. I recall there was a "Homebrew Musts" sticky somewhere but I can't find it...

Homebrew ports/games
Descent Wii (also by tuedj)
GX Quake (wiimote IR perfection, also supports Scourge of Armagon and other mission packs)
supersonicwii
eduke32 wii (also supports mission packs)
OpenBOR Wii
PlasmaRaketti
OpenTyrianWii
NewoShooter
SpaceShip_Omega
bermuda
syobon-action (troll your friends)
Bash the Castle (the game whose concept was ripped by Angry Birds)

APPS
ftpii (very useful if like me you don't want to hog the SD card all the time for small file transfers)
Wiiexplorer (great file manager_
Savegamemanager GX
WiiEarth
WiiMC plus
MPlayer (more stable than WiiMC)

Btw, if you reconsider for the emus, you could do well to consider checking FBA, Not64, NeoCD, ScummVM, WiiDoom, ResidualVM Wii (although it's now beginning to evolve) and Genesis Plus GX...

If you got games on discs, Gecko OS is useful (if you're a cheater ;_; )
As stated above, SaveGame Manager GX is also useful. As you probably guessed by the name of app, it's a... well, savegame manager! Messing with the save datas was never so easy.
And, if you consider emus, you should check ScummVM, Genesis Plus GX and Retro-arch/whatever it's called.

Thanks a lot guys. I actually have SaveGameManager GX and forgot to mention it. Great app.

Retroarch makes me interested in emulation because of the lack of clutter. One app for all that? Makes me wanna...
If it's a one stop shop you're looking for, wiiflow can launch roms from a cover in a "coverflow" - using (most of) the emulators mentioned above as plugins. There's a relative amount of setting up to do but the results are well worth it. Have a look at AbdallaTerro's signature for his masterpack, and have a look on the Wii Emulation and Homebrew forum for the stickied Cover Collections for Emulators With Cover Support. Nice.

Whenever I want to teach my wii a new trick, I just load up this
http://wiibrew.org/wiki/Homebrew_Browser
And see what I can find. Loads of stuff, ready to download and install all by itself, PC free. Plus, you can check on the apps you've installed and see if they have available updates, which is pretty handy.

And if you don't want to take out SD card every time you want to transfer a homebrew to wii, the FTPii can be very useful.

FTPii was nice until I discovered WiiXplorer could do the same, and better too. I was having some limitations with FTPii back then, I don't remember now so can't tell.

@Psionic Roshambo, The Wii U gamepads are tied to the console's region, so its impossible to find a cheap gamepad that supports your model.

Unless you modify your system, of course, and remove the region check.

  • S @ salazarcosplay:
@Xdqwerty I like how the game had the middle ages 1000AD, the dark ages 600AD.It was great seeing the post robot apocalypse 2300 like Terminator and enter the matrix. some of mad max and fallout. 2300ad though it could had used more elements instead of just a generic ai uprising. It was a great idea for their judgement day to be 1999 Y2K.

-great additions if they would have made an expansion or dlc in my opinion would be finding out humans trapped in a matrix -

a follower having a cyborg character living tissue over metal endoskelleton like terminator, and the synths from fallout

4After Zeal fell it would have been good to see more ancient eras. Perhaps Sumeria based in one area, then Egypt based in another area, Greek based in another area, then roman based in another area before the middle ages.---------

----between 1000ad and 1999 is a big gap they should have had the age of revolution like the american and French Revolution

then the cowboyy era in one area of map and the Industrial revolution/age of enlightmentthen a ww1 and ww2 and a cold war era
