Hacking MT card (or gateway) and retail saves

im currently looking at investing in either an MT card or gateway(leaning towards MT) just wanted to know if they are able to support retail saves. i did a quick google search and the answer seems to be no. but things could possibly have changed between now and the info i found

3DS saves with 2.2.0-4 & 6.0.0-15 encryptions are not hacked.
You can't decrypt & re-encrypt any of them to make them compatible with GW/MT.
