I wanted to read my Wii's message board data. I understand it's inside the "cdb.vff" file which is just a file with a VFAT (not FAT32 or FAT) partition inside.

I tried booting into Ubuntu and mounting it with mount -t vfat but it didn't mount because it was the "wrong fs type"
Someone here forum,wiibrew,org/read.php?21,67230,74374 says they got it to mount by replacing the vfat header with a normal fat one.
I can read the files data in Text Edit and it is legible but I would like to mount it if possibru.
How can you mount it?
