Gaming Monster hunter dlc and Luma region emulation ?

A friend has a 2nd hand Europe console with a Europe region monster hunter with dlc already in it. And the consoles the rest of us use are us with us versions of the game. I just learned that there will be no cross region local play with these 2 at all.

I was wondering if Luma can make the game think they are from the same region so we can all play with all the dlc.

Or would the Europe dlc also work with the USA version of the game? I can download all the Europe dlc and install the USA version and be able to locally with him...

Nvm fixed the problem by region changing the Europe console. I thought monster hunter dlc passes through the eshop which was region specific but turns out it doesn't care for the eshop...
