Standard, first generation wii

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

nandcfg.bin is being created in the SNEEK folder in my SD card with Sneek, so I know it's at least accessing the SD card. Nandpath.bin boots before nandcfg.bin and reroutes neek2o to the specified nand, so this may just be the answer I'm looking for.

No nandcfg.bin found on the usb drive with uneek, odd. Tried uneek without the SD files since they're optional, I'll try it again with the SD files, and once more with the USB files on both USB drive & SD card.

& then I'll rinse & repeat the process with neek2o r89 if it fails
Sorry my advice didn't help. I'm no expert on this or how it works. I just know what I did and what worked for me. Let me know when you finally get it figured out in case someone else has a similar problem.

Will do sir. But no apology necessary, you were a great help, I've found out quite a bit of useful info.

What I'd prefer to do is set up postloader to autoboot with neek2o so I could just run the wiiware/vc games straight from there, as postloader has become a huge convenience for my USB drive which seems a bit finicky with the wii and has recently become my preferred medium to run games. Gotta get into the emunand to do that first lol

Interestingly, cfg loader and GX don't read my usb drive, but I can boot games through them if I go through postloader. Perhaps booting neek through postloader may work

I can't get SNEEK build to work.
This file has failed to download properly multiple times. Skipping download.
Is the Nintendo server down or is ModMii not working anymore?
I'm using v6.3.7

EDIT:
My bad. I forgot that my router was blocking Nintendo Update Server.

I did the ModMii yesterday and it worked perfectly, great guide and the shortcuts to the youtube videos were very helpful. Thanks for that! First time user and no problems whatsoever.

I only had two things i could think about what might be added-changed to the guide.

After the backup files were created it wasnt very clear to me when i could remove the sd card and if i should but the sd card back in and when.

Also because i left the sd card in my wii now i get the menu at the start where you have to navigate with the buttons on your console. probably because i didnt run the file cleanup step yet.

as from what i understood, only an apps folder on the sd card is required after you did all the steps (for the apps i selected)?

I don't know about hacking with ModMii but you can try following the Softmod Any Wii guide over at Wiihacks (http://www.wiihacks.com/showthread.php?t=96886). I've always used that guide an have never had any problems.

Also, about missing downloads... I designed modmii to keep a backup of the vital files that tend to go down frequently in ModMii's temp folder. So I encourage you to download everything now while you can still find the files online most of the time so that way if u ever want to use ModMii years from now it will still work properly. I personally have a complete backup of the ModMii temp folder for emergencies but I don't intend on uploading any of it for the usual reasons.
Has anyone uploaded a complete ModMii temp folder with all downloads? I have searched online but haven't found anything (Just a filename would be great)

I would really like to have a complete offline/portable version of ModMii, but many of the downloads no longer work due to google code's shutdown :(

One question:

IS there anyway to install Modmii on my Wii without having to buy a SDHC?
I already have a 16gb fat 32 USB.

Also what exactly is SDHC? IS it just a memory card on it own or do i need an adapter for it too???

Lastly is there any easier way to play wii roms on the wii? or is this the most optimum methood?

You don't install ModMii on your Wii. You install it on your computer. When you run ModMii you tell it what you want to do (like you want to softmod your Wii) and it will download all the necessary programs/files for you and generate you an easy to follow guide

SDHC is just a high capacity SD card. Regular SD cards can hold up to 2GB. SDHC are 2GB to 32GB. And SDXC are 32GB to 2TB. Some hacks only work with SD cards which is why most guides recommend finding a card that is less than 2GB. But if all you have laying around is an SDHC card you can try it out and see if it works.

I personally have never used ModMii to softmod a Wii. I've only used it to update my CIOSes and install neek2o. But it was very easy to use for those 2 tasks so I can only assume that ModMii would be just as easy to use for softmodding your Wii. Just remember that no one in this community wants to hear that you bricked your Wii. So if you are unsure (and have at least done some searching of your question) then feel free to ask and we would help you out.
