YAWM ModMii Edition v1.0

Yet Another Wad Manager ModMii Edition (yawmME) is based on Some-YAWMM-Mod, which is based on YAWMM, which is based on WAD Manager, modded up by various people.

Changes since Some YAWMM Mod:
  • Can now also launch apps (both dols and elfs).
  • Priiloader can be retained when installing a new System Menu.
  • Temporarily disable region checks/protection by entering the Konami code instead A when selecting a device, allowing installation of WADs to permit region changing.
  • Improved region detection to allow those with custom system menu versions installed to install a different system menu without requiring the Konami code.
  • System information added to device selection screen (i.e. loaded IOS, System Menu, Region, AHB access & Priiloader installed).
  • The device select screen will now only let you choose between available devices.
  • Added an option to remount the source devices to the device selection menu.
  • Counter added to onscreen progress (i.e. Processing WAD: X/X)
  • Power and reset buttons are now inactive when installing WADs.
  • Fixed some ticket handling that was preventing a stock IOS from installing other stock IOSs with version numbers equal to or greater than those already installed.
  • Pressing 1 on a folder no longer gives to option to "delete a wad".
  • Improved error handling\codes and messaging.
  • Updated name and graphics.
  • yawmME is brought to you by OverjoY, blackb0x, scooby74029, Peter0x44 and XFlak; graphics by AuroraNemoia.
Download from the Release Page or using ModMii.

This seems really nice!

Does the first point mean that you can launch homebrew apps regardless of their location? What uses can it have?

Yes, it can launch apps saved anywhere on SD or USB.

It is mainly useful when the HBC is not installed or working properly. For example, if you cannot install the HBC (no vulnerable IOS error or the Press 1 to continue option never appears), ModMii's Hackmii Solutions wizard\guide will now have you launch yawmME via an exploit, install IOS58 (and some others), and launch the hackmii installer seamlessly.

Previously ModMii would use MMM to do all this, but that doesn't support motion+ wiimotes. WML works with motion + wiimotes but it's buggy\risky. So if users only had motion+ wiimotes, the old ModMii would direct them to launch Some YAWMM Mod via an exploit, install stuff, then replace SD:\boot.elf with the hackmii installer using a PC, then launch the exploit again. ModMii made this as easy as possible using "ExploitAppSelector.bat" but it still needed a bunch of extra manual steps, and now yawmME makes everything seamless even for those with motion+ remotes and doesn't require manually renaming\copying stuff and launching exploits repeatedly for no good reason.

I made a forwarder channel for this great wads manager, to have it in my Wii Menu and be able to access it directly. Take as a base the wad forwarder from YAWM mod, created by @Gabubu

I have trouble to run it from HBC, it always shown the " Couldn't find the region of the system". I try it on my two old wii ( 4.3j mod by modmii) but both of them have the same problem, so I only can use the YAWMM-Mod to install the wad file.

Huh.
Better uninstall my current YAWMM and install the new one from the Open Shop.

Can you confirm you can still use the app after seeing this message? If not, would you be willing to share a video or screenshot of the problem to help test\troubleshoot? If you have discord it would be easier to coordinate with @OverjoY there.

If everything works but you are restricted against installing system files since for some reason it cannot detect your region, you should be able to get around this by entering the Konami code instead of A when selecting your source device.

I use the modmii to mod my wii, everything is OK, the
only problem is I can not follow the guide to use the yawmME to install wad file, so I use the YAWMM to install the wad files.

Attached is the video for your reference ...
