Updated Rufus to v2.12 in the Download folders.

On download-page:

http://gbatemp.net/threads/medicat-dvd-a-multiboot-linux-dvd.361577/

I miss a version "Mini Windows 10 x86" (=32bit !).

Where can I download it?
click one of the download buttons, and look in the "Legacy" folder. Please note, I no longer support 32-bit, so it will not get any further updates.

MediCat DVD doesn't support booting in UEFI mode, so if you add a Windows 10 install disc to it, you'll need to keep that in mind, as it will boot in Legacy/CSM mode without Secure Boot. I believe you just need to copy one of the other entries, and paste it as a new entry. Then edit the label, and point it to your .ISO in the ISO folder.

Hmm this is very pity.
I use your MediCat ToolsCD to support my parents, neighbors and other people which are not equipped with the newest computers.
They oftentimes have still 32bit computers. I think for ToolCDs this is a common scenario.

According to your statement I cannot use newest MediCatCD for their hardware.

Is it really so difficult to generate just a second 32bit based MediCat ToolsCD?

May I ask you to consider a 32bit MediCat release still for 1 or 2 more years?

That would be great.

Thank you
Peter

Hello,
I'm interested in using Medicat, but I have two questions:
A) How do I add programs to the DOS image? I use some DOS programs from time to time and I'd like to know if it's possible to add them to Medicat.
B) How do I add programs to Mini10?

A) inside Tue MEDICAT folder is a .IMG file that's about 11 or 12 MB. You open that with UltraISO and add the does programs you want, then save it.

B) You add portable apps to Mini Windows 10 by placing them in the PortableApps folder. (It's located on the root of the drive)

Thanks for the fast answer! I have a last question - can I install programs in Mini10 permanently (for example like Google Chrome or 7-Zip are installed)

You can update 7-zip that way, but most apps are better to update portably. Otherwise you'd have to rebuild the entire WinPE from scratch with the new app versions. This coming version in April will have updated apps.

Hello again,

I just integrated all my software into the ISO, and I added it to YUMI using "Unlisted ISO (via SYSLINUX)". The problem is that when I select the ISO, I just get a "boot:" text on the top left of the screen?
What am I doing wrong?

Have you tried using Rufus instead of Yumi? I include it in the download links.

Also, you might want to make sure your edited iso works in virtualbox first.

Hey Jayro,

I am highly interested in trying your tool in our IT department. However, I am unable to find the medicat.16.10.stable.iso. The folders just contain the hashfiles. I have tried to open and extract the archives via 7zip and winrar and have not been successful. Can you please let me know what I am missing?

Thank you in advance! Excited to try out your tool and replace our outdated Hirens.

There are folders inside, but I can link you directly to the files: HERE

(7zip is required to unpack the .7z files)

Just downloaded medicat.16.10.stable.iso and put it on a usb drive using Rufus.
"Windows 10 Mini" wouldn't run... then eventually I figured out that had to rename "boot" folder to "BOOT". Easy fix, but it could be very tricky.

Then not sure why under Windows 10 Mini I couldn't search for wifi networks (looks like the wifi-card driver is installed but the Windows wifi search module isn't).

Thank you.

Holy crap, I've been trying to fix that boot problem for a long time. It worked fine in VMware, so I couldn't pin-point it. So thank you a bunch!

As for the wi-fi issue, it works fine on all the hardware I've tested, so I'm not sure where that issue lies for some people. If it's a laptop, it might just be a hardware switch that needs switched on.

Go right ahead and swap out my ISO images with your own as you see fit, sir. :) I have never heard if SpinRite, and PartedMagic is included on my DVD, which includes Gparted, and many more tools with it. Including Gparted would be redundant with PartedMagic already there.

Oh, and I edited the Linux Mint ISO so that after installing Mint to a harddrive, it won't remove the Gparted application from your system.
whats the difference between the medicat and the winpe mini versions? both seem to bundle the same software

The full MediCat DVD has the fancy menu with additional bootable software, including the WinPE. This gives you everything MediCat has to offer.

Some people only need the WinPE, so I offer it as a standalone ISO with the same PortableApps, you just don't get all the additional bootable tools of the full DVD.

The NAKED versions of each contain an empty PortableApps launcher with no portable applications installed, so people can create their own portable software suite from scratch so-to-speak.
