I think this is more a question for devs / hackers / those working on translations.

I recently obtained copies of Grand Knights History and Monster Hunter Portable 3rd, and tried the MH .prx patch first and was blown away by how easy it (almost) completely translated the game. I finished reading the Grand Knights History translation thread and from what I understand it was a .prx plugin at some point but changed to an ISO patch during its development.

I'm 100% positive I can dump my UMD and make a patched ISO, but for storage and ease-of-use reasons, the .prx patches seem much nicer to me. I'm going to dump and patch my GHK ISO and play it, but I'd love it if there were more PRX translations.

Are there technical differences between the way ISO and PRX patches work? Do some translations need to be one or the other? Is it possible for someone other than the creator, like myself, to alter a patch from ISO to PRX or vice versa? If that's possible I'd love to attempt it, at least.

I know lots of people pirate PSP games or play them on emulators, which is why most are in ISO format, but I'd love to be able to say to people who aren't part of the PSP homebrew scene, "Look at this thing you can do to easily translate import games". In my Googling around, I think I've seen some demand for it at least!

Curious to know what you guys' thoughts are on this, and any enlightenment on how .prx patches work would be appreciated. Thanks!
