I've never done it, and I'm not sure if you can just use a separate profile. I know the other two ways work, but I've never personally had over 292 games at one time. I don't know if it nags you or what. that would be annoying if it does. the 3ds doesn't from what I remember as I've had many games on there.

yes, hack your virtual wii if you want to try with just sd card.

If you haven't hacked your vWii yet, you can follow this: https://gbatemp.net/threads/the-definitive-vwii-hacking-guide.425852/#4. Once you've installed cIOS you should be able to run WBFS files (most common way to run Wii backups to my knowledge) from the SD card. From there you can install WiiFlow as it's the only backup loader I'm aware of that you can use to run backups off an SD card. It will require putting your games in a folder called wbfs on the root of the SD card.

The guide can get a little convoluted so be sure to follow it to the letter and once you're set up running backups is very straightforward.

I have hacked my vWii and installed cIOS, so this information is perfect! Sounds like exactly what I needed thank you so much :)

there's a way around that. I think creating a separate profile will allow for more games, but I don't really know how it works. the file that limits you is called the barista file. there's a separate one per profile/account from what I remember, but I don't know how that looks on the home screen.

This won't work to my understanding because all games installed will show up for any user so you can't just make another profile and add more games. The only solution to this would be running an emuNAND and I don't think that's a popular choice nowadays.

from what I've read, it's supposed to work because the barista is a profile file. seems like a major fuck up if not due to families only being able to buy a few games per member.

I guess I've never played around with that file so you could be right, but I don't know if WUPinstaller has a method of handling which profile of installing to unless you can modify what games appear in which file.

I looked up the information. it says you have to edit the barista file after you reach the limit among several users. I don't know for 100% that it works, but system config tool does. you just may be nagged still, because apparently, it does nag you.
