I just bought a Key-Clip, but I learned from the Wiikey2 thread that the current Wiikey firmware has a number of flaws... Do you think I should go with OpenWii instead?

"Wiikey version 2" ?!?

How about giving us update version 2 for Wiikey first.

The bug list of update 1.9s/x is still long:

- the soundfix is not working (on pal gc backups on pal wii)

- the 6x speed is not working (on backups on pal & ntsc wiis )

- it is not possible to dissable "full gc region free" (on Pal wiis)

- "full gc region free" not working (on ntsc wiis)

- the integrated "Wii update blocker" not working for some games (pal & ntsc wiis)

I mostly care about the 6x speed not working... Does it cause slowdown in games?

No YAOSM doesn't work with an ATmega. Non the less, he should go with YAOSM. It's the best chip out there for the old Wii drives...

(btw. OpenWii doesn't work on a key clip and is worse than the wiikey firmware)

No it isn't, it's disc-detection is horrible and allways was. Just because it seems to have all the features other chips have doesn't make it a good chip. When it doesn't read your disc that features are worth exactly nothing.

Thanks for your barefaced and opinionated lies.

Tested it myself, have read it a few times from people that tested it, that's enough evidence for me. Even Chiip has a better disc-detection (though it has numerous other drawbacks, ofcourse)
Anywho it doesn't really matter if you believe me. If someone asks a question I give advise, if he takes it or anybody else for that matter seriously is none of my concern.

Yeah well I already have my Key-Clip... So my only option is the Wiikey firmware?

And btt: Go with the Wiikey, it's cheap and good, if you don't mind patching your games and things.

Patching your games??? Lololol. I have never had to patch any games with my WiiKey what so ever.
