One other thing to bear in mind is to ignore the feedback scores on ebay. Some of these scammers have sold 20,000+ and have feedback scores of 98% or so. Main reason for this is that the majority of people don't end up using the whole capacity straight away and by the time errors occur when exceeding certain amount of stored data, it is too late for them to give a feedback to the seller
*This* is how I got scammed last time silly me... despite the card being a 256GB for $26 I assumed the seller was legit with so many positive feedbacks and had a very high rank number. But a day later seller's account vanished lol. Yeah I got my refund, but it took 2 weeks.

not to mention uninformed pople will never know unless they search on the "interneche", they keep adding crap and think its there, then it doesnt work above a certain size and they will probably think something is quite wrong but its probably the device's fault and not the SD:bow:. LMAO, as i understand the card just reverts back to the beginning in some cases and starts to overwite the existing data, so it looks like its always copying, in my case it failed at 10gb

Yeah the most common thing is we tend to forget to format the SD card first. My issue with my 256GB card was that it wouldn't work unless I plugged it into a high powered USB port. I almost ended up going RMA to Newegg lol

Even if you buy from a physical store, there's always a slim chance of it being a fake.

highly unlikely unless it's a return being resold, or some fly by night cellphone shack or something, Best Buy, Office Depot/Max, Staples, Micro Center and places like those should be fine if you make sure the package is sealed.

Well in my case I bought a SanDisk Ultra A1 128GB 2 days ago, I opened it yesterday, put in my laptop, was giving around 80MB\s, I formatted it and now it's stuck to 20MB\s no matter what format I use, even did a full format to exfat and 128 allocation size, but still 20MB\s.

If it was on eBay I would probably get money back and keep the SD, but now I have to move to the local store and ask 4 a new one which will take a lot of time as mine was the last SD...

I had all kinds of problems with SS in the past but not this a never used SD giving 80MBs which is now locked at 20MBs no matter what.

Ps: but it's a real one as the store is a official seller for SanDisk and I did the full test anyway with no errors, just a defective one ;).
