Hacking Emulation Issue with pointers shifting

I'm using citra along with ce, and have found the pointer I want via byte array, and then using existing gateway codes to find the offset, find the 3ds address for the pointer, so it would work in a gateway code.

Tried with individual values, and they stay consistent after offset, but for some reason the pointer doesn't. I know pointer scanning might find layers of pointers to said pointer, but was hoping to avoid the multiple long scans and unsure if I'm missing something else.
