I am also part of a secondary group, but I lack it. Although I am not a backer. It could honestly be a mix of them being a backer and their secondary group.

Couldn't it be that someone decided that is more beneficial if there are more people who could beta test the theme? I assume there aren't that many $10+ codes, and then ironing out the bugs would take considerably longer.
