Hacking is the R4i Gold 3DS RTS supposed to be this hard to 'click'?

I got a R4i Gold 3DS RTS just because and noticed I need to apply a bit of pressure on the side to pull it out of my DSL.

Then I tried it on my n3DS and it wouldn't 'click' for the life of me, it took a lot of force on a very particular area of the cart for it to lock in.

Is this normal or could the shell be defective somehow?

i have an r4 dual core 2015, and i notice that when im inserting it, it have to press down with the tip of my finger, and it always makes this unsatisfying grinding noise with the gold chips. when i pull it out, it makes the grinding noise,but its still fairly easy. it looks like only some r4 cards have this issue. it luckily doesnt effect the performance of the card, it works just fine. official game cartridges are fine though, they come in and out smoothly.

The R4i Gold 3DS RTS (r4ids.cn) is known for it's problems when it comes to getting it into/out of the DS. It will get better every time you eject it.
