Hacking Question Is it useful to buy a Switch now?

I want Homebrew, but I'm only interested to see a Dreamcast Emulator and perhaps PSX. All other Emulators I can use on Wii U (like NES, SNES N64, GameCube, Wii, Master System, Mega Drive) For now nobody can say, if a Dreamcast Emulator or PSX Emulator will be released for Switch. So it seems useful to wait.

The question is: Will Nintendo fix the gpu exploit and than there is no way to hack newer Switch Revisions or is the door open, because the hackers now know how the Switch works? Should I buy the Switch now, to use homebrew when it comes, or can I wait for Homebrew I'm interested on.

2. Nintendo can't fix it because it is Nvidia problem.
3. "Hackers" will always find ways around.
4. Try to find 1.0.0 switch or at least 3.0.0.

Yes, but they need to initialize GPU, sound, etc. I assume you need more than just userland.

As a home console is kinda useless, but as a portable console, there has never been a real console like it ever before...

Even though Samsung galaxy s8 and S9 4 example can be more powerful and way more energy efficient, I'm still to see good android games, there's only a few and even with a Bluetooth controller for me is mehhh...

There's nothing like a real tablet like portable gaming only console with its own well made built-in controllers, there's some Chinese android consoles but they lack performance and games...

Homebrew (including emulators) doesn't require complete access to the system. So it may be that the GPU exploit is fixed, but there will be userland exploits that allow homebrew.

At any rate, since the GPU exploit is not released, we don't really know enough about it to know how complete it is (does it allow Trustzone access or just kernel?) or how fixable it is.

There's a modchip coming soon(ish...maybe...sometime in the next 15 years) that apparently will work on all firmware versions. Also according to an article that just went up on the front page here, Nintendo is planning on focusing on peripherals rather than marginal hardware revisions this time around, so every Switch on the market at this moment is exploitable whenever that modchip comes out.

I dont like Modchips and this is no option for me. A console have to be hacked with software

The idea to wait is also, because the first consoles had some connection problems with the joy cons and with the screen (scratched by inserting into the station

Well I'm in favour of what comes first or what I can do at the moment in time...

On Xbox original I hacked mine with the hotswapping method on the hdd and sofmodded it, but on the 360 I have a RGH chip, I had FWH but it was a big pile of crap, I have burning DVD-DL which were pretty expensive here and I had to constantly open the console to update the FW and when they made the paid FW was pretty lame though he ended up giving it 4 free.
