I just came up with this idea. What if a host 3DS used the Download Play of the DS to transfer .nds files? I mean, transferring the data of a DS rom through download play. It could be a cool idea for people who don't have a DS flashcard.

Q: Why don't you just install NDS bootstrap on your 3DS?
A: Maybe you want to play it on the original hardware.

Could it be possible?

nope. You can only play games that way. but not send actual rom files.

Download Play goes only to RAM (original DS had no storage to put ROM files anywhere else).
This limits the size to 4MB -- full retail ROMs are a lot bigger (minimum size 8MB).

Special demo ROMs can be used and some homebrew stuff (with the help of HaxxStation for DS systems without FlashMe).

Have fun!
