an ebay seller is willing to sell a gba clone console to me for the equivalent of around $80USD, do you think that's a good price?

i'm desperately looking for a small portable handheld console that can play gba games but so far this is the only one that does it.

thanks for the help

well i actually wanted to buy a dingoo but they don't sell those anymore, so i considered buying those PMP mp5 consoles but i'm scared of those things exploding in my face due to how cheap they're made.

i've been searching far and wide on the internet for a small sized gba clone console, so far i've only found the revo k101 but its $120 dollars which cost the same as a PsVita.

if anyone has any good recommendations for a good gba clone, please don't hesitate to let me know.

hi everyone! and thanks for the suggestions! i appreciate all the help everyone here has so generously given me! thank you all so much for helping me! ^_^

i think flashcards are illegal here which is why i'm scared of ordering a gba flashcart online out of fear of getting into trouble with the customs, but i think i will call them up directly and talk to a customs official to see if they will let me buy one flashcart for my own personal use.

as for the psp....i don't like the wide rectangular screen, i guess i was looking for a small console that is kind of like a GBA micro with a small screen that is more square shaped, if you know what i mean. the revo k101 is perfect in this regard, but they seem to have raised the price to 120 dollars so i need some time to think it over.

also i just realized that the gba clone i posted in the first post doesn't have Left/Right trigger button, i wonder if those were binded to the X and Y button instead?

Most flashcart stores ship from HK or China... It won't even have to go through customs.

That looks cheap and the D-Pad looks awful, at least get the K101 Revo+ if you're going to get a clone, I hear it's pretty good (but not great.) It's cheaper as well, if you can find it for the MSRP of $70. GBAtemp has a review on it: https://gbatemp.net/review/revo-k101-plus.427/

Can confirm. I have the Genesis variant and the D-Pad is so awful. The system is also quite weird, maybe cuz I'm low low battery? When your batteries are almost depleted it goes crazy.

You're thinking of the AtGames one? I know the design is similar but this one doesn't seem to be made by AtGames, at least it has no branding on the front.

thanks for letting me know about the D-Pad issue!

the RevoK101 costs $120 dollars now, sadly.

i assume its in us dollars, seems a tad bit expensive i think.

as for the issue of the gba flashcart:

the customs official also told me that as long as the flashcard doesn't have copyrighted content inside then its fine, and that its only my actions of utilizing the content via the function of the device that matters, such as whether the content i put inside the flashcart is copyrighted or not. HOWEVER, i'm required by law to submit "certificates" to prove that the gameboy flashcard cannot be use for "tactical or military purpose" according to the customs official. also i need to provide the relevant technical specs document to prove that the components inside the flashcards meet consumer electronics regulation and signal standards and whatnot.

well seems too much trouble for what its worth....

i just found out that this particular GBA clone has a bug in the internal software which causes the SAVE file to disappear right after turning off the console. so apparently SAVING during normal gameplay is not possible on this GBA clone, neither does the console utilize save-states which is a real shame, i guess if it can't even SAVE the game then it's not really worth buying anymore. oh well....i guess i really have no choice now but to buy those PMP cheap knockoffs handheld consoles now.

Is it piracy if it was released for free? Not in my opinion, but I also think it's not piracy if buying it isn't owning it, and it's not piracy if you can't buy it from the original creators anymore.
