It's unlikely to be playable. N64 is a bitch to emulate and it only worked so well on the PSP because, much like it was the case with PS1 Classics, some of the hardware was almost backwards compatible and a lot could be virtualized. The 3DS is just not beefy enough and I really think that a PoC emulator is all you're going to get. The N3DS has a better chance if the code is parallelized correctly, but it's not going to be anything to write home about.

N64 still has the same problems with the same games that have been a problem for years even on powerful pcs. I don't see anything playable ever happening on 3ds.

Naw mang. Which emulator are you talking about? Version .00000000000001 of StrmnNrmn's Daedalus? Or the most recent, up-to-date one? THAT ONE runs incredibly well. OoT is full speed, and pretty much 100% playable. IS 100% playable. As is Super Smash Bros, Mario Kart 64, and Mario 64.

Link? I haven't heard of this emulator before, as for Snes? And for the record, PSP still has garbage DSP code for its Snes9x port, based off of 1.43 (can't handle the more accurate 1.52 DSP code), BlargSnes has far superior audio emulation, something the PSP hasn't achieved yet.

Let's talk about the 3DS, not PSP. They are not alike, besides the fact that they're both handhelds.

I'm gonna say this again: Probably not for Ninjhax, considering we don't have the full RAM. And N64 is hard to emulate. We already have a near perfect SNES emulator - blargSnes by StapleButter .

The SNES is difficult enough, the N64 is billion times harder.

PS1: Yes, considering weaker ARM11 phones can emulate PS1 just fine.
N64: Maybe, reckon only SM64 will run at full speed w/ sound.

The N3DS if programmed like the PS2 emulator for PC can take advantage of the extra cores and see some benefits.

I've yet to see a 256MHz ARM11 phone that does it decently, but okay spyro. We've had this conversation before.

No. Don't even think about it. It would be a wasted effort, because it will never be able to have decent framerates. And of course the New 3DS won't change a single thing.

And there is no reason really. If you want a portable N64 emulator, try getting an Android gaming device like the Archos Gamepad 2 i got for 120 euros back in July. Many many times more powerful than a 3DS, and has many working N64 and other emulators to choose from. Better screen too.

No. My quad core 1.6ghz A9 android with 2 gb ram still has some problems with certain PS1 and N64 games. ARM11 phones are orders of magnitude weaker. Not happening...

So why do we need homebrews? Just buy a tablet.
Why do we need a game console? Just play with PC.
Lol

I think homebrews means exploring the possiblity of our own devices and fully controling them。
It seems I'm wrong

It's just a interesting way to use new software and applications on a locked drive.
It's more interesting to run a emulator on a console.

So why not? A Nintendo 64 Game could be great on a 3DS when it get 3D support? Maybe it could happen in the future. But we need a running emulator with atleast 80% speed first

If playing with emulator is the only purpose, just buy a Wii or WiiU,and purchase VC games on channel or eshop,
more games can be played, every N64 game can be runned perfectedly

That's not that what i wanted to say.
From the view as developer. You have this 3DS System with limited hardware specs. So you want to run a N64 Emulator on a 3DS. Many developer likes to do things like that, because they will get many respect etc when they share their work if they are successful
