Hey all, I was really excited to see the 3.70 hack finally released and sat down to apply it today. It's all gone ok so far, I've hacked 3.70 and installed VitaShell. I am, however, now stuck during the downgrading process. I want to go down to 3.60, and am following the guide found here: https://vita.hacks.guide/downgrading-firmware-(3.60)

Where I'm having issues, is after installed Modoru, the guide says I need to copy the 3.60 FW to an 'app' folder. After installing (or indeed before doing so) there is no app folder visible to me. Neither on the console itself, nor browsing via my Windows FTP application.

Any ideas?

I can't seem to get past this stage and it's killing me! The only folders I have available in VitaShell ux0: are calendar, data, mms, ptmp and VitaShell.

Have I gone wrong somewhere? I can't work out where I need to copy this FW to. I read a little ahead in the guide also, and the next stage involves lauching h-encore whilst holding R. I don't have h-encore either? I've followed this guide from the start with an unhacked 3.70 machine, and at no point have they covered installing h-encore or anything like that.

I'm stuck :( Can anyone help? Huge thanks in advance.

Huh, OK, so my issue was not enabling the installation of unsafe homebrew in Henkaku settings.

However, now the next step is wrong. It says launch h-encore whilst holding R, but h-encore is not on my console. The guide isn't perfect, it seems to be missing information. I've followed it word for word from the start and it's never mentioned h-encore till now :(

The update 3.60 has to be put in 'app/modoru' folder AFTER Modoru is installed. And because you have opened Vitashell, Modoru requires you to reboot the device, open Trinity and then you can downgrade. The battery has to be atleast 50%.

Got it sorted, thank you! The guide was misleading but managed to work it out. Now fully hacked, woohoo!!

Now to find some emulators.

Who wrote the guide?? It is indeed misleading and the vpk files doesn't have to be in 'data' folder. You can just copy vpk files directly to the root of your memory card if connected to PC using USB cable. And the PSP2UPDATE.PUP in 'data' folder too?? Wut?? You have to copy the update in app/modoru folder after modoru is installed. And then reboot.

I also used that guide from 3.68 to 3.65 and had some issues with information.
I used a couple of guides in the end but still had to muddle some parts myself due to SD2Vita.

It was the same with Vitahacks site when I setup everything on 3.68 and had to x check some other guides.

It seems no guide covers all areas with Vita but when I hacked my 3ds using 3dshacks which is linked to Vitahacks it was perfect.

Guess it's due to so many firmwares and different hardware names it difficult.

Hardly believe it's because of so many hardwares and firmwares and I'm talking about PSVita. Nintendo devices on the hand, yes, they have so many firmwares.
But I would go find video guides instead of pulling my hairs out because of misleading written guides.

there's nothing to charge back because the keys don't cost them money to generate in the first place

If the game has a crack sure
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Most these crack sites have dead links anymore or the crack don't even work
  • linuxares @ linuxares:
@The Real Jdbye What don't you get? If someone use a stolen creditcard. Then sell said key on G2A. If I the dev sold the game key, I will get the charge back cost. That's how it works, it doesn't matter if I generate 300 keys if 300 of them are bought with stolen credit cards. I never said it was on Steam, but its the dev that gets hit. There is a ton of stories out there if you google it.
