Android how to see an overview of the home screen

I was holding my phone and wasnt consentrating on it. when i checked it again, my phone was showing ALL my home screen (the place where u put widgets/etc). I then clicked on one of the home screen and it took me to that screen. How did i do that? Im on 2.3.4

Try sliding your finger up on any screen.

It depends on your device. You might have double-tapped Home, or you might have pinched the display.

Generally it's double tapping home. It does get annoying if you accidentally do it a lot...

On my S II, double tapping Home brings up Voice Control, except sometimes it does that even if I only press it once. I got fed up with it and froze Voice Controls altogether.

I guess that's specific to the European version because it doesn't have a search button, most android devices bring up voice control when you hold the search button.
