OP
At this point what barriers if any stand in the way of having the Wii U gamepad act as a classic controller in vwii mode? Is anyone currently working on making this possible or interested taking this on as a project at some point?

This would be particularly useful to play Vwii mode on the gamepad(Semi portable gamecube ftw).

Idk, 60%? People are trying to make vWii VC game injections with gamepad support now.
Unsure about vWii itself, somebody might still work for that.

They're still figuring out EGGS-SSE header. If they will figure this out, rest will go easily without any problems.

The lack of interest in Wii U Homebrew scene is worrying me tbh.

Oh, really? Well, I hear there's a company that stopped working on a GBC game some 10 years ago, and they released a ROM of it on their site.

well with the switch released the very rare devs on wiiu scene basicaly stopped working on it becuase why bother with a dead system, they all want to move onto the switch hacking wich is ARM and will be much easier to program thanks to the smartphones and stuff, lots of devs already have experience in arm rather than the wierd PPC the wiiu uses.

they released the room of the game where they left off so they technicaly didnt worked more on it they released it as is... same way every now and then surfaces an unreleased and sometimes finished game for a random old system.

Still, they released a demo. THAT has to account for something.

my point is those companys didnt work on it after they dropped it, releasing something as is that was unreleased, is kinda comon nowadays after afew years, specialy for gb,nes games lol.

if they released wii vc injection as is you would get nothing, since nothing is done lol.

Some great devs still develop for Wii U homebrew scene like Maschell, brienj and many other devs out there so there's still hope that we will get atleast PPC Linux or that hard FAT32 support. [Which i hope somebody will develop]

:rofl2: - Fukkin hell that's even better than your boarders typo in the London thread! Sorry man, English ain't your first language, it's 'coders' - 'codders' here in the UK at least, means people that are joking/taking the piss, rather apt, hence the smiley!

Anyway like Felek is trying to say to you, don't jump to conclusions - a lack of new information doesn't always mean work has stopped on the project.. it could be being worked on as we speak, or perhaps on the backburner while other projects are being done - all your posts are doing are creating a whole bunch of negativity on the topic - "hopefully soon, but things have gone quiet lately" would've been a better (more optimistic) reply no?

its been 3 months without a single reply from anyone that is even interested, if you can turn that into a positive and keep thinking someone is working on it without any well proof be my guest.

Now, how many months after the console's launch did it take for games to be installable?
Even the original "brazilian exploit" topic contained mostly extremely vague claims before it actually released.

How about controlling the leds on 3DS? or when modchips and Verbatim DVD-R were the absolute best choice for Wii isos?

I used to use high end headphones and speakers JBL back when they made good speakers lol X-Fi Fatality edition sound card on PCI with XP back when Windows had good sound....

I mean built in sound on mobo's has gotten way better but still XP handled sound better and X-Fi was still better than onboard audio even to this day
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Hell not sure what was going on but for like a few weeks MP3's sounded muffled, some driver or Windows update fixed it. Thank god lol
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
Oh boy Massdrop has $1100 IEMs. Want, but not at that price lmao. https://drop.com/buy/campfire-audio-andromeda-emerald-sea-iem
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
I'd sooner buy the Meze 109 Pro if I was dropping that much on headphones. I don't even like buds/IEMs
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
I got the Google Pixel Pro buds, they're good enough for when I need portable audio. And some really cheap IEMs that Dankpods recommends, I think the KZ ZSN Pro
    +1
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
I'd stick with cheapo Chinese $10 ones quality is actually becoming on pair with name brand since name Brand usually quads the price up anyway loose one bud that's another $200
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
My Pixel Pro buds shit the bed a month or two ago. My wireless charger (which they do support Qi charging) absolutely COOKED them. Caused some problem that caused the case to heat up to 180F+
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
They were like 9 months out of warranty but I hit up Google support anyway and told them how hot they were getting and they replaced them with new ones because they wanted these for failure analysis lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    lol wireless charging
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Yeah that's why I can't bring myself to even spend $100 on wireless earbuds
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think it's a cool idea but damn
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
Apparently the case has a problem with >15W wireless chargers. Google design fault, that one.
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
I could live with wireless charging if the damn standard case doesn't block connection
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    how is wireless charging possible?
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Dbz said everyone has raging energy senses

  • cearp @ cearp:
you mean generally, how does the concept work?
    +1
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
    Copper conducting electricity or something
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@Xdqwerty, power through a coil of wire causes an electromagnetic field to be generated. Another coil of wire can be set up to harness the power from that electromagnetic field and turn it into usable energy for charging a device
