I can understand where OP is coming from, my parents were like this at one point, though it was mainly out of concern that I'd buy something retarded or get scammed when I was younger. Now that I'm older they let me do whatever.

To everyone that is an adult and has to deal with parents.

Tell them it's your life and your mail and that they have no business interfering in it.

Exactly this for me, same as i don't ask them anything when they buy something and i must sign for it.
