For adding custom song you need
thememii
https://wiibrew.org/wiki/ThemeMii
BrawlCrate
https://gbatemp.net/download/brawlcrate-v0-39h1.38026/
AudioLoopingConverter
https://gbatemp.net/download/looping-audio-converter-version-3-0.38027/

ectract iplsound.bsar with thememii

Extract and open AudioLoopConverter.exe
Click Add > audio file you want to use on your wii menu
Click New Sample Rate (Hz) and change this
(As far as I know the Wii does not like when the replacement sound is bigger than 1MB, so try to keep the length short at about 30 seconds and change the sample rate accordingly)

Change Output format to WAV
Click Start. It will save the output file in a folder called output (located in the same folder AudioLoopConverter is in)

Extract and Open BrawlCrate.exe
Go to File > Open... and browse and select IplSound.brsar extracted with theme mii
In BrawlCrate, go to WIPL > BGM
Right click on the MENU file, and click on Delete
Right click the BGM folder click on New > Sound > New
Right NewSound, click on Rename and rename it to MENU
In the right view, scroll down to RSAR Sound, go to Soundfile and select [0] GROUP/STATIC
Right click MENU and click View File
Right click [0] Audio and click Replace
Pick the .wav file that AudioLoopConverter made in the output folder
Tick the box Enable if you want the sound to loop

Just in case it doesn't register immediately, click Done, right click MENU and click on View File. The new sound should be there. Click on Done.
(Optional, but recommended if you want to get rid of the start sound that will play over your new sound if it's still there) Go to WIPL > SE > WII and delete the WII folder.
Go to File > Save

Back to thememii add new static data, select sound/iplsound.brsar and in file path select your IplSound.brsar modified with brawlcrate.

now you can install new wii menu with new audio.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM

  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm

i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space

@rqkaiju2, Physical media is a great source for archiving your data, none of that cloud storage shiz.
