I'm trying to copy Gundam 0079 MS Sensen to my drive, and it was doing just fine when I was copying games from my computer to the drive. Now I'm copying from my Wii, and its been over an hour and I'm only 12% through.

A) Would turning off my wii hurt it or my drive?
B) Did I do something wrong?

Copying and installing speed depends on the speed of your hard drive and the actual size of the game. Still, most games will not take 8 hours to install.

You can turn off the Wii without adversely affecting your drive. The installed game on the WBFS drive will be corrupt, and should be deleted before you try to install the game again.

I can't imagine you did anything wrong, but the installation function is a little wonky. It's much more reliable to use cIOS Disc Dumper or SuperDump to obtain the ISO and then load it onto your WBFS drive via computer.

Thanks. I've been watching my speed (in between rounds of Gran Turismo

) (haha, there was an XKCD about emoticon parens) and its just been fluctuating a lot. Its sped up and I'm at 80% or so.

plus copy speeds also depend on if the game is already backed up on a DVDr compared to an original
