Hacking Help with 2DS and 2014 r4isdhc card

I am hoping someone can assist me.

I have a 2ds which i has already been updated to 7.1.0-14E. I also have the 2014 r4isdhc card, more details here... http://www.r4isdhc.hk/r4-product/index.htm . This r4i is compatible with 7.1.0-14, at least that is what is shown on the download page, I cannot get it working.

The card is recognised when it is inserted but then I get a message saying something has gone wrong and I need to long press to power down.

I know 7.1.0-14 was just released a few days ago... but does anyone have any experience with this? Would appreciate some help as this is part of a kids xmas gift

Recommendation: Get a DSTwo, it will always work on 3DS (or in your case, 2DS, and can play Super Nintendo and Game Boy Advance games)
