@FIX94 can you please tell me if the below behavior is normal?

My setup: I have a Wiiu With HaxChi installed and Homebrew launcher channel also installed on sysnand. Then I:
- Run Haxchi
- Run a installed DS game by Wiiupinstaller
- Press home and close the DS Game
- Try to run Homebrew launcher without running haxchi again.
- Homebrew Launcher Blackscreens and I have hard reset Wii U.

My question: When we close a game do we have to run haxchi again before running the homebrew launcher, is this the correct behavior?
You run Haxchi/DS game once.
If you exit and try to go back to it, you have to go to Mii Maker instead, if you go back to the Haxchi DS injected channel, you will blackscreen.

I set the config.txt to default=sysmenu. The idea was to run haxchi and enable patches without launching HBL (have a click happy 4 year old). Every time I run it, it hangs on the Wii U Menu screen and have to hard reset. Any advice?

EDIT: Little more info... The included sample config.txt worked perfectly, as in hold B and it would return to the system menu with patch enabled, or leave alone and HBL loads and then upon exit patch enabled. Just trying to figure out default and why it isn't playing nicely in this config.

maybe the text file format is wrong?
you know, like ANSI or UTF8 with or without BOM signature, file ending format (linux, max, windows)

be sure to use an editor which doesn't modify these information.

I used notepad from Windows 10 to edit the sample and save. Do you recommend something different?

So I'm going to update Haxchi to 2.5.u2, I run the installer and to my knowledge, CFW is now included that it automatically loads whenever I load Haxchi to load the HBL? I've been out of the loop for a while, so that's pretty darn awesome :P

Somehow, this WONT run when the USB is attached and run fine when is NOT attached, any ideas WHY?

EDIT: Aparently the only thing I cant open as of now is the WUP Installer channel, it says error 199.9999 and force me to turn off my console, any ideas why is this happening? its installed on NAND.

Check the channel's thread for more info. You're not the only one seeing that issue. I think they suggest simply moving the channel to USB.

Hello. I have some questions as to run homebrew.
I stopped a few months ago at the stage of the installation games with USB and RedNAND:

- Is possibility to install games (various regions) and applications SysNAND?
without hakchi?
- Is the ability to dump the NAND without fw.img and on USB stick?
- Is the ability to use new homebrew channel (support .rpx) without haxchi? (Via internet)

Regards.

I wonder if that was the point of game streaming
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    But it's a dead end
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@Psionic Roshambo, people who cant download it can still play the game
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
If your internet speeds are fast enough. Streaming 4k takes alot. I used to only have 20mb sec, and 4k struggled. Now I have 300mb sec and 4k plays fine.

@BigOnYa, why did you start saying my pc has a hamster in the first place?

I think Game streaming should work like this.... Local Hardware able the run the game fine, game engine and common assets stored locally, all FMV and music and textures could be streaming

They went all in on streaming, should have been more of a hybrid approach

Or free government supplied high speed internet be nice also. Like Obama care. Xdqwerty that's cool, its time consuming but rewarding once done or playable, to see what you've made from scratch. Animations take forever, but worth it.

    @BigOnYa,
and the visual aspect of the game is quite crude (the sprite that looks best is that of the protagonist just because he is a stickman with sunglasses)

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
There is a bullets behaviour you assign to your character, that makes the code easier, under "behaviours"
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
i meant that when the character is pointing to the right, the bullets spawn where they should, but when he is on the right, they move to the right but the spawn point is incorrect
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Itch.io has lots of free assets also. Under the bullets behavior tab, there is a "rotate bullets" option, can try that. Or in the code can try
    - fire bullet Player.X(PlayerDirection)

That's cool tho, I'm proud of you going back to it, not giving up. It is difficult at first to learn, but fun once you get the hang of it. I think I've watched every tutorial video there is, but I still struggle sometimes to get stuff to work right. But gotta keep trying dif things, and eventually you will get it right.
