Swap Lite-on drive to this,
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827136259

Lite-on drive are notoriously loud.

Lol, I wouldn't even buy one

I install windows/linux from USB and keep my data stored in various HDDs.

I haven't used a CD/DVD for ages...

thats ok with me

what rigs are you guys running
i7 3770k @ 3.8ghz
8gb RAM
gtx 680 2gb (asus direct cu ii)
128gb ssd (840 pro), 2tb hdd
750w 80+ gold cpu (on sale, was cheaper than the 650w's available)
asrock z77 extreme 4

built earlier this year with money I had made from selling my previous 2010~ rig (965 be, 2x 6950 2gb, 8gb ram, etc). looking to sell it again like my previous when I can get around to it. not doing any 3d renders in revit anymore, don't require a 680 for my games. pretty much I could use that other money for other fun things + I want to have a mini itx build for my next desktop.

we need to pick a game where all us pc gamers can play hehe

TF2, CSS, pretty much any source game is usually a must in a PC gamers library. Guild Wars 2 is a good mmo if your into that. Oh, and some PC versions of bethesda games are also worth the second buy thanks to all the mods, Skyrim and FO3 are two that are heavily supported. Oh, and RO2 is cool. Im suggesting some buys for you :P

Oh, and my lappy is ok, not exactly beefy.

i5 3rd Gen
Geforce GT 630m
4 RAM (been meaning to upgrade this >_>)
