yeah i thought about buying a new battery and new back for it but i don't think anyone knows for sure if it is the battery or just the MBdamn that sucks arse man :l
but you know, you are not the only one with problems with this phone.
maybe i was lucky, because i also have mine for nearly a year now and it is still as good as i first got it.
i get 4-6 hours SoT easily.
i read many having bootloop issues, and many of their phones dying on them when the battery life hits 10-30% ranges.
but well the thing is, you could have just tried replacing the battery!
you can buy a oem battery on ebay (they are only like 15$ i think).
and you can watch some very good tutorials on how to replace the battery on Yt.
TouchWiz is one of the things that you either love or hate. I personally love it, they added some really useful features to Android like the split screen dual app view, and the window mode on Note devices.samsung is cancer
touch wiz sucks and phones are loaded with bloatware
also their designs are the ugliest thing on the planet , the new note 8 looks like crap just the rest of their designs
samsung=great specs but that is about all
In addition to that, TouchWiz is no longer the bloated mess it was back in Android 2 and 4.TouchWiz is one of the things that you either love or hate. I personally love it, they added some really useful features to Android like the split screen dual app view, and the window mode on Note devices.
Also, you can disable the bloatware with Package Disabler Pro, no root needed. It won't remove it completely, but at least it won't be running in the background. Although with newer versions, there's a background thing that "puts apps to sleep" when they're not used so they won't be taking up resources in the background, so that's not really a problem anymore.
Most people seem to like their phone design. I like the design of the S8(+), haven't really looked at the Note 8 much.
Lmao yeah right, actually you can choose which bloatware you want and which you doesn't. I had the iPhone 7 and it was horrible nothing special to limited and the design was kinda meh. Now I have the s8 plus, one of the best devices I ever had.samsung is cancer
touch wiz sucks and phones are loaded with bloatware

dude man, go ahead and root the sh1t out of it.yeah i thought about buying a new battery and new back for it but i don't think anyone knows for sure if it is the battery or just the MB
and i dont think i would attempt opeing this phone myself it looks hard, afraid i would ruin the lens n the camera hump or scratch the screen
but for what labor for battery replacement costs i cols probably just replace them both, but then i am basically buying a whole new phone sav for the MB
so it is really not worth it , i seen professional videos where they crack the camera hump cover glass and scratch up the screen
it's not a good phone to work on
luckily i have had no bootloop issues but i did have it shut early but only a few times , the main issue with mine is shit SOT, N updatr made standby get a lot better but SOT got even worse , i wanted to root and flas xposed but i am afraid to do anything that might make SOT even worse
It's a nice device, but its edges are a bit uncomfortable to hold imo. Which is one of the reasons why I went with the S8 instead of the S7 edge. I guess using a phone cover may remove this issue.I have to say I've had a SAMSUNG S7 Edge for a long time and it is a great phone. It is totally cancer free.
Bloat is not much of an issue in modern Samsung devices. Plus, one can always flash a custom ROM. The hardware is solid.I would say wait until October 4 for now and see what they do with the pixel 2 if you're into pure Android and want those monthly security patches. Also I've always heard any of the OnePlus phones are great. I'm kinda against Samsung personally because they put so much bloat on their devices. And if you're looking for a budget phone I've heard the Moto phones are good, but I will warn that Lenovo is terrible with updating their stuff (I just got my Android Wear 2.0 update a couple weeks ago when I was suppose to get it in May).
The Essential PhoneHiya!
Well basically, I'm just asking you all what model I should get.
What is the best option for the price, the reliability, and support?
I need to have something that will last longer than a year. Not necessary featuring cutting edge specs, but at least something that will do as good or better than my currently owned phone (Moto X Play).
Thanks in advance
I'll agree the hardware is solid and yes you could flash a custom rom, but honestly I'd rather just get something with pure android out of the box (in case you haven't noticed, I prefer pure android only). I'd argue over the bloat, but that's not what this thread is about. Also if I had to pick any Android phone as of today it would be the essential in a heartbeat. Maybe the pixel 2 can take that crown back.Bloat is not much of an issue in modern Samsung devices. Plus, one can always flash a custom ROM. The hardware is solid.
You are exactly right about that, without the cover it is hard to hold. It's a nice device, but its edges are a bit uncomfortable to hold imo. Which is one of the reasons why I went with the S8 instead of the S7 edge. I guess using a phone cover may remove this issue.
