Going to hack my switch soon, but I need some opinions on if I should update my switch.

I got the original switch model so it's definitely hackable. Right now I am at firmware 9.0.1 I'm pretty sure I got everything I need to get it set up ,but right now I am not sure if I should update my switch first then put Atmosphere on it or if I should just stay on my current firmware. The latest firmware is hackable right? Any reason I should stay on my current firmware or is it ok to update my system. I have Zero and Ao no kiseki I am trying to play, but it requires a higher firmware so that's why I am posting this message. If I have any more questions that I think of I will replay to this message. Thanks to those that can help.
