Give users the option to turn off PM

Hello,

I don't like the PM feature and having the ability to turn it off would be nice. The problem of just ignoring it, is that some users might get the impression I ignore them for personal reasons.

I'm pretty sure you can do that. I have my pm to only accept pm's from my friends or people I follow. staff can still send you pm's though, there's no way to turn that one off.

If not, that feature would be highly appreachiated. I don't want to worry about users thinking I'm not responding to their personal chats for personal reason. If its a setting I can apply to any chat, that clears up the situation from the beginning.

btw, you will have to lock any conversations that have been started on your account. otherwise, those people will still be able to send messages through the conversations that were started before employing that preference. they won't be able to start any new ones though.

I assume this will work when I turn the lock off and on again.

no, the preference is just stopping conversations from starting. those people will still be able to send dm's/pm's if the conversation has already started. also, it doesn't apply if you start a conversation with someone. they'll be able to reply unless you lock the conversation.

if a moderator said it, it's gotta be true. you could request the function be added in the appropriate forum. I don't know if they'll do it though or if it can even be done.
