Sory, my English very bad.

I received from Mr Zerey a Ribbon 40 pin type AB but my LCD sreen is type B :(

Please help me change the cabble to type B if you can. I think, the point difference of two type is a connector pinout, but I dont know what the hell to change it????

Currently, when I try plug LCD screen to mod cable, I receive a contract pic is very poor...

Can you help me? Post a picture clearly of Ribbon Adapter type B or guild me to change from AB -->B.

Thanks for your help!

edit: correct link I bought http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a230r.1.14.444.CKNiUS&id=17953133877&ns=1#detail

That's a fake ribbon cable???? I dont know...
That's one of the items from the http://gbaguan.taobao.com/ store, which I don't think is related to Zerey. When you buy that cable, you can specify you want a 32-pin version, a 40-pin version for screen type A, or a 40-pin version for screen type B. Or at least, that's what I'm guessing it says when you hover the mouse over the relevant parts.

Oh, I'm so sorry Mr.Zerey! I did not find the letter "B" or "AB" on the content of posted link! The end, that was my fault...
Can convert the type AB ribbon to type B? I have tried but no result.

Does anyone know how to distinguish screen types?

[email protected]

I emailed Zerey and he did reply. I asked his prices for all the different parts he sells. He didn't give me any information on prices yet, but he did say that he is out of stock for lcd screens. He said I would have to wait awhile.

I don't know about you guys, but I still prefer the front-lit SP's for one pretty important reason. Backlight screens simply don't work in direct sunlight. Trying to play outside when you're out and about during the day is freakin' impossible on the backlit screens. Whatever it is that is different about the displays besides the light must be the culprit, and annoyingly nobody seems to be doing anything that could resolve it for portable screens.

I have no problem playing it outside where it's bright out. It has never occured to me at all, so I guess I'm ok with the back lit in broad day light.

So I'm going to have 6 GBA's to mod. :) I can't wait. I went to the Flea Market today and traded my AGS-001 for a vendors original GBA. He has another one. So I'm going to go tomorrow to trade my other 001 for his other original GBA. :-)

You know, you can use those AGS-001 front lit screen assembly the same way as the AGS-101 inside the OG GBA. Just that it's a front lit instead of back lit like the AGS-101. I like having two; front and back lit for collections.

Been wanting to do this sort of mod for ages now, and ended up registering here since you folks seem to know more about the process than anywhere else.

Way back on page 26, Fenixt mentioned a cable that I've got on the way (http://goo.gl/n5yke8), and that it only appears to work with OEM Nintendo screens, not the LG ones manufactured later. Are there any quick pictures or ways to be sure I've got the right screen? I've got an *incredibly* weathered arctic blue AGS-101 I bought used a couple of years ago, and while I don't see any LG emblems on it, I'm not sure if I have to tear more off of the screen to find it.

fenixt said: " Found out that the cable for 32 pin is compatible with both display types, and the 40 pin has two versions for different displays."

--> I have found the way to used the 40 pins ribbon adapter for both display types. It's very simple by just connected some pins to GND or reverted it! Let's try it!

I did this mod on my first GBA but it didnt work, the power light comes on and then goes off really quick. any idea what ive done?, i checked batteries and everything. i thought i may have possibly shorted some traces. That is, where I did the soldering, I checked to see if i made a unintended bridge but i hadnt. I unsoldered it and the first GBA worked again with a normal screen, i tried it on another GBA motherboard and the same thing is happening with that one. Any idea whats wrong?

You need to solder a cable from the ribbon cable adapter to a ground point on the GBA.

@BigArnold you put the fusee or hekate.bin in the hekate/ payloads folder, or use app to push the payload to switch while its in rcm mode

The problem is is that TegraGUI isn't detecting my Switch despite it being plugged in and in RCM or maintenance mode.

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Did you click install driver inside the tegra app.
  • B @ BigArnold:
I did all of that stuff and it seemed successful but still nothing. The only thing different from the guide I used was that my device wasn't showing up as APX but rather Nintendo Switch.
