EH! watch your mouth... "some Dude in china" happens to be called, Zerey Zhang, is very professional, extra polite, has worked extremely well with everyone who could not use his website due to a language barrier and some in country shipping restraints imposed by the site and above all... everyone in this thread who has ordered off of him has received their orders in half the time Chinese shippers normally take. Please read the whole thread and you will see all the praise everyone has given Zerey over the past several months. I for one am extremely thankful for his great service, skills and willingness to produce and deliver this for us to enjoy. Zerey Zang is a 10/10star seller.

I'm perfectly fine with your wanting the pinout for your own use, but your racist comment is unacceptable.

Everyone else who agrees with my on this please chime in. We all owe Zerey for the joys he has brought us. The least we can do is defend his name from speculative slander.
I'm afraid I don't agree with you. he said nothing racist at all. All he said was "some dude in China." He never said "some Chinese dude." I personally wouldn't feel comfortable ordering from such a faroff country myself, especially considering my previous experience with buying stuff from China. Even if the seller is legit, it often takes a LONG while for it to actually reach America, if at all.

So please, stop overreacting.

I agree with what the previous poster said. You're overreacting. He's stated he's from China, because China is ridiculously far away and different than the country he's in, so it's only natural to be skeptical.

Not to mention that ordering stuff from China (at least when you're in the west) is complete hell and often doesn't arrive for MUCH longer than the service claims, and often doesn't even arrive at all. That's not "slander," that's a fact.

Man, I'm tempted to get a few more screens and cables to modify some friend's gba. But this time I'll probably deal with zerey directly as opposed to going through an agent through taobao.

If only he sold on ebay... :O

I honestly wish I had a lit original GBA. I have a transparent pink one I kept from a family member that didn't want it anymore. It has one of those shitty port lights attached to it. It looks horrible, either you aim it just above the screen, and there's still not enough light, or aim it on the center of the screen and have a blinding glare in the center of your screen.

I don't know, I just really like the GBA, and I think the original is cool in it's way, it has a really nice unique design, good buttons (Just think start & select should be switched), but playing on one is a joke unless you have a bright lamp aimed at the screen. Even the previous gameboys (color, pocket, original) had a lighter screen.

If you're at all still interested, I sell the kits in the US. Been working with Zerey for the last couple of months to make these kits more accessible for folks in the US.

Do you have any way to confirm this?

If so, would you sell "completed" models in the US, as well?

Confirm what?

Do you mean pre-modded consoles? If so, then yes. In fact, I've got a few up for grabs right now. I have them posted on a few forums that I frequent.

How much do you sell them for? Also, would you mind posting some links to said forums where you've posted them?

How much would you expect for one of those?
(Specifically the translucent red one.)

Since I'm guessing that almost everyone is familiar with DP, here's that link :)

http://www.digitpress.com/forum/showthread.php?164827-FS-Modified-Gameboy-Advance-Systems-SALE!

The price varies depending on some of the options, but right now the two that I still have are $125.00 shipped within the US.

The red one would normally have been pricier since it's had more work done to it. I'm looking into picking up a few more Glacier GBAs to modify in the same way. Between the LCD/adapter, 2-way brightness switch, which is something that I added and Zerey is not currently offering, modification to the shell plus paint will most likely be in the $175.00 range. I can also mod a unit of your own as well for less.

Oh, and I forgot to mention that I'll also have the glass replacement lenses in very soon as well :)

Would you want the 2-way switch installed or just one brightness setting?

Dang, That red GBA is sexy.

Thanks! I'm actually gonna make another this weekend. I've been bombarded with requests for more, so I grabbed a few more Glacier GBAs for the mod :)
