What you basically need is something like this :-

https://www.amazon.ca/StarTech-com-...=1496269390&sr=8-2&keywords=startech+sata+ide

As far as power is concerned, the network adapter (if you have one) can be used.

I have a network adapter already otherwise i wouldn't be able to format it to biggin with. lol.

Wow those are expensive. I didn't even know msata existed till you linked it. Better off with a IDE but there hard to find now. Are they faster or something?

It's a quick search, so I didn't bother to find the lowest price.

SSD goes A LOT faster.
When you turn on the PS2, the mSATA SSD goes so fast that the boot animation immediately zooms in.
Loading times are insanely quick, too.

Of course, I had an old mSATA SSD I was not using, so I just got the adapter.

It might be easier for you, if you live in Canada, to get a SATA-to-IDE adapter and a SSHD. They are fast with plenty of space, and a low cost.

With most SATA-to-IDE adapters, you have to take apart the network adapter so that the SATA-to-IDE adapter will fit inside your PS2. With mSATA SSD, you don't need to take apart the network adapter.

However, with the 40 pin to 44 pin adapter in my post above and the 44 pin IDE-to-SATA adapter below, it might be possible to fit the SSHD+the two adapters inside your PS2 without taking apart the network adapter. I haven't tried this configuration, however, so try it at your own risk.

THanks julialy. I ended up getting the sata chip and modded my network adapter. It was kinda easy if you follow youtube. Just a heads up you need a small torque screwdriver. I have a set but when I looked for it I couldn't find the handle. Who knows where it went after the move. Anyways I ended up finding a dead drill, put the bit on and turned the head by hand. It was kinda annoying but it worked. I gotta pick a nother set some time soon. I put a 1tb western digital that I got extra cheep. It's only sata 1 but I dought it makes a difference since it's just a ps2. HDLOADER took minutes to format. loaded it up with my pc once again I found out that my ide usb adapter has sata but I don't have a extra power adapter. SO i opened up my pc and stuck it inside my pc loaded up winhip formatted it with the higher bit rate and loaded like 110 games. I think I got 650GB to spare. Im getting to the point where it's hard to games worth getting. It was kinda overkill for me I think but ohh well it was cheep. only game that didn't work and im bummed about it hotshots golf four but i bet i can get that at a local shop for a couple of bucks anyways. I hear the sata harddrives compatibility is more forgiving then the IDE harddrives which is good.
