i haven't tested with the .POL files yet, but with the SEQ video files when you pick the option to "load" from the main menu (1st homebrew screen) the game will play the first SEQ cut scene and then prompt the user to start a game, etc. after you pick "start" the homebrew will load the game and then jump to what appears to be the most recent save state. i was thinking that it should go right to the most recent save state (by date/time) and skip all of the vids and menu options?
when you die you can not click abort or continue. pressing X allows you to select continue or abort. when the game starts over, the last save state slot you were using is overwritten. this is forcing me to save twice during each game (01 & 02) so if one is overwritten i can continue with the other. this makes it time consuming to use save states quickly. it would be nice if this could be fixed.
when you pick up the clear key the SEQ cut sceen is still giving an error. if the POL cut scene is in the directory then the engine will play the low quality dos scene. here is a save state:

after starting on level 2 i made 2 save slots (2-01, 2-02) and turned off the ds. after rebooting (and having the issue above with the game loading after the movies, etc) the game loads my last world-1 save slot. i am unable to load my world-2 save slots. the only way to get back to world-2 is to use the engine's main menu option to level skip. after i have skipped to world-2 i am able to use my save-slots again. it would be nice if the engine loaded the last available save slot, and assumed the player wanted to pick up where they left off. however, it is also a nice feature that they can pick load and then choose what level to play.

would it be possible to hold LEFT or RIGHT on the d-pad to cycle through the save state numbers, instead of having to press for each increment?

while making the save states i had a bug appear. i loaded up the game by selecting "load" on the main menu. when the engine's main menu appeared i picked the level select, and then went to level-2. once the level opened i was at the beginning and my first save slot has been overwritten.

i'm getting the occasional SEQ crash on level-2. Error: unable to allocate 11656 bytes for SEQ buffer 2!
