Hi all!

Does anyone have the software + drivers of the EZ Flash I - EZ Writer? I found mine again in a drawer and very eager to use it.
I am sure there was a companion CD but it probably got lost when moving years ago.

P.S. I have a Windows XP 32-bit PC available so compatibility is not an issue.
P.S.2 the latest version (v3) of EZ Writer on ezflash.cn does not work for me. I probably need v1 (1.07?) which is nowhere to be found anymore.

Thanks
Alex

Thanks @slaphappygamer that's what I meant when I said that version v3 from ezflash.cn does not work.

I see that there used to be version 1.07, but it's nowhere to be found (also not on the web archive).
(Google > "GBA EZ- Client software drivers for EZ-Flash" // unfortunately I cannot post links)

Thanks, yes the EZ Flash is a great one. @EZ-Flash2 please let me know if you can fetch an older version of the drivers. Thanks!
Unfortunately they haven't posted or responded on here in a long time, they've abandoned all support for their current hardware while continuing to sell them. Hopefully someone more helpful will be able to dig up the software you need.

I might be able to scare up something I got with my EZ2 but I am not sure why the 3.25 on the site is not working -- everything should have been supported throughout. You might have to click on EZMode and set something but I doubt it.
Looking at https://web.archive.org/web/*/http://ezflash.sosuke.com/files/* and https://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.sosuke.com/ezflash/files/* (some good stuff on there I should probably archive as well)
then
https://web.archive.org/web/20071013121248/http://ezflash.sosuke.com/files/EZClient/ezc311.zip is listed under older versions. I can't remember if that was before DS options were added, though at the same time there might have been additional GBA fun after that point (late 2005 was Eeprom v126 which was the last notable thing in GBA world really).

https://www.gameboy-advance.net/fal_soft/ez_flash_client_download.htm teases me (normally it does well) but did lead to

https://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.ezflash.com.cn/download/* and in turn

https://web.archive.org/web/20050815141615if_/http://www.ezflash.cn/zip/ezc301.zip

As well as a truly ancient (I had never seen this setup before) https://web.archive.org/web/20060212181308/http://www.ezflash.cn:80/zip/ezdriver14.zip

@hippy dave thank you so much. 3.26 from the link you sent works like a charm.
I don't know why 3.25 from the ezflash.cn was not working.

For the benefit of anyone who has the same problem -- I am running the tool in QEMU (x86 32bit) on a Mac.

Hi @amull ,

I have the same adventure with the same product but I think I don't have the same XP as you with this kind of product.

Is it possible to explain me your solution to use your old EZ ?

Thank you for your support !

Any of the later EZClient releases should work with the whole EZ1 and EZ2 range, and no great reason not to use them. You might have to click on EZMode that is in the same directory (later linkers/cradles needed it certainly) but that is exciting as that part gets.

Being a custom piece of hardware then you need to install drivers.
Sadly microsoft blocks such things from Vista on up.
To this end you will need to go in the attic and find an old XP machine or install XP in a virtual machine and pass through USB to it.
https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads is what most will use, though guess by the post above if you are a filthy mac user then qemu works.
Afraid you are on your own for finding Windows XP, don't know if those cut down ones the system fixing CDs have will work for this.
You will need to install the extension pack inside the VM as well if using virtualbox, not sure what goes for the other virtual machines but I would expect to do their equivalents.
After that it is fairly easy to click and select devices, and point it at the drivers inside wherever ezclient is unzipped/"installed".

Ahem, some of us filthy Mac users also use VirtualBox :)
Although the 'Dev Preview' ARM64 version seems to be completely non-working for me. Windows hard drive images crash straight away and even the installer ISO crashes. On Intel it's fine.
