1 +Lego City Undercover?

Long game
replay value
Hilarious Cutscenes
It´s basically GTA for Kids (and it´s actually a good thing mind you, and you´re the cop this time)
Shot Outs! (if you like them anyway)
you can be anyone in the game!
variety of vehicles!

and well, that´s about it.

The game is a masterpiece, but the loading times... God...

So...the common 'essential wiiu game list'. Basically: if you've played a game you really liked and want to let others know, you can post it here. I (Taleweaver) will add it to the list below. :)

A few rules:

* you must have played the wiiU version of the game at least an hour before making a vote (please respect this one)
* wiiU games don't have to be sold on disks to be voteable. However, for everything on the eShop goes the same first rule: you need to have played the wiiU version before casting a vote.
* you can vote for a demo if you really like it, but keep in mind this does not count as voting for the full version. Also: if the demo gets pulled from the eshop, I'll also remove it from the list.
* no minus votes. Not liking a game is fine, but please allow others their opinion.
* please keep your own tabs on which games you already voted for.
* please don't edit a previous post to add new games. It'll be impossible to keep the list up to date.
* if it's a new entry, please provide a short description of the type of game.
* keep the discussions on the games themselves to a minimum. There's a "start new thread" button for a reason. ;)
* state the full name of the game in a clear and readable fashion (one game per line, preferably with a "+1" prefix). If you can't be bothered to type more than "BLOPS 2", I'm assuming you just aren't too motivated to see it in the list. See my first reply below as an example.
* depending on how popular and largely used DLC will become, it may or may not become voteable (for the moment: please don't vote). EDIT: seeing how it can pretty much make a new game: vote for it if you like. :)
* I'll try and maintain this list as often as I can. Still, it may take a few days before it is updated.

That's it. And with that said...the list. :D

1+ Mario Kart 8
IT'S A MUST HAVE!!!!
For a machine that doesn't have the monstruous graph pawa of the PS4 /XB1, it its an astonishingly, beautiful, well crafted game that highlights how powerful the Wii U truthfully is, and the game play, has very good controls both gyroscopic and with the sticks, and the inclusion of social replays (know ingame as mario kart tv) and youtube uploads, it's just the icing on the cake. Of course, it's Mario Kart, so yeah, cheap AI and frustration galore, but who cares? can't wait for smash though.

+1 Donkey Kong Country: tropical freeze

I picked it up a while ago but never got around to playing it (was a promise to myself back when it was new), but it's a great game no matter how you look at it. It's very similar to DKC:r on the wii/3DS, so if you like that game then it's an instant buy. :)
The only downside to it is a gripe I had with the previous game as well: those bosses take ages to defeat. I don't mind them being so hard, but when dying, I always have this "damn! now I have to start ALL OVER FROM THE START" on them.

It's just your generic Lego gameplay mixed in with elements of a GTA-like game which overall is a neat idea but overused. Whichever game I play that has Lego has the same exact gameplay so I've lost interest in them.

and a freezeerpeice :P

I completed LCU and never froze on me.

It's an addictive game but once you play it too much you get tired of it and then it goes back to the box, then months later it's time to play again.

I'll definitely be purchasing the DLC Bundle.

Mario Kart 8? Super Smash Kart!

@AncientBoi, Yeah, believe you can do PSP games as well. But a Pi5 is much powerful in comparison.

Not sure about other models of Pi4 but the Pi 4 B with 8GBs OCed to 2Ghz handles PSP really great except like 1 game I found and it is playable it just looks bad lol Motor Storm Arctic something or other.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Other games I can have turned up to like 2X and all kinds of enhancements, Motorstorm hmmm nope 1X and no enhancements lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
Waiting for Anbernic's rg[whatever]SP price announcement, gimme.

I will admit that one does seem more interesting than the usual Ambernic ones, and I already liked those.

    I dread the price point.

  • Veho @ Veho:
This looks like one of their premium models, so... $150 :glare:

  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    To me that seems reasonable.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I mean since basically all the games are errmmm free lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I mean yeah sure but the specs are the same as a $50 model, it's just those pesky "quality of life" things driving up the price, like an actually working speaker, or buttons that don't melt, and stuff like that.

  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think all in my Pi 4 was well north of 200 bucks 150ish for the Pi 4 the case the fancy cooler, then like 70 for the 500GB MicroSD then like 70 for the Xbox controller. But honestly it's a nice set up I really enjoy and to me was worth every penny. (even bought more controllers for 2 or 4 player games.) hmmm have never played any 2 player games yet :(
  • Veho @ Veho:
Yeah that's what I hate about the RPi, it's supposedly $30 or something but it takes an additional $200 of accessories to actually turn it into a working something.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
yes that's the expensive part lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I mean sure it's flexible and stuff but so is uremum but it's fiddly.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Yeah a lot of it I consider a hobby, using Batocera I am constantly adjusting the collection adding and removing stuff, scraping the artwork. Haven't even started on some music for the theme... Also way down the road I am considering attempting to do a WiiFlow knock off lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I want everything served on a plate plz ktnx, "work" is too much work for me.
  • Veho @ Veho:
Hmm, with that in mind, maybe a complete out-the-box solution with all the games collected, pacthed and optimized for me would be worth $150
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Yeah it's all choice and that's a good thing :)
