Elliot Quest Coming to PS3/4, Vita, Xbox One, and 3DS in 2016

Elliot Quest
is a game described by the developer as a spiritual successor to Zelda II, and although it didn't take off from its Steam release, it did experience success when brought to the Wii U.

The game came out on Steam in November 2014, but it wasn't until reaching the Wii U on March 19th this year that the game really hit its stride, both in sales and community involvement. Luis Zuno, the head (and only member) of Anzimus Games, confirmed as much in an interview. The Miiverse involvement has been so positive that the game is actually receiving an update July 30th to add a Miiverse Journal to share and leave notes, as well as 20 Miiverse Stamps to unlock.

Due to this success on the Wii U, PlayEveryWare has decided to port Elliot Quest to the Playstation 3 and 4, Vita, Xbox One, and 3DS, set for release in 2016.

Anyone play this? Is it actually anything close to being a spiritual successor to Zelda II? Because from what I've seen in the video it just looks like one hot mess with mindless winks at Zelda II but absolutely nothing from a gameplay perspective. I also hate the art aesthetic, but if it plays well I'll get it on Steam and maybe Vita.

Oh wow, this isn't something that I'd grab on Steam or Wii U, but it looks just like the kind of thing my 3DS needs. That's pretty exciting!

Wow that looks good

Elliot quest looks like a good attempt but I really hate the art style. Retro graphics are lovely if done properly, like shovel knight. But these graphics aren't charming, they look like a low budget NES game - and not a good one.

Oceanborn is good, i've played it. And 3d dot game heroes is a great game, a real gem.

You haven't seen a NES game in a while didn't you?

This doesn't make any sense. Pixel games usually encourage you to use your imagination rather than throw it out the window.

Exactly my point. Modern pixel games are becoming pretty mediocre as developers make more and more of them. They're using less imaginative storylines and level design.

i was a KS backer for this game, also did some bug catching. i've played through it on the OUYA. it's pretty fun. well designed, well planned, but has a few minor flaws. for one, you need to do a lot of back-tracking (metroidvania) but with little reward after the leveling cap locks in. after that point it just gets repetitive for repetitive sake. there are some side "quests" (bosses) you can complete, which add some length to the game. overall i put maybe 3-4 long days worth of time into it, and really enjoyed it. it has fun music, a fun story, and overall a fun experience.

This one needs to come to the Wii U as well. I've played it on Windows and it is worth it!

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Freaking fun ass game all the way! I played the hell out of it on the Commodore 64 and Atari XL/XE growing up.

All I can think of when I see that title logo:

We had our grandkids over yesterday and I got a small above ground swimming pool I filled for them to play in. Well today I woke to find 3 ducks swimming around in it. Don't mind really but they are annoyingly loud, quack quack. Gotta drain it today. Guess what were having for dinner, lol.

plus if you're making brownies or lava cakes for people with dairy allergies, you should use oil instead of butter anyway

I make rum cake for 4th July every year, I make it a week prior and then soak it in rum in the fridge all week. I flip the cake each day, and add little more rum, it soaks it up everyday, so good.
