Hello again!
(sorry for making a new topic)

I need some help with NSCR file editing. These are the last files I need to edit in order to complete my project. I'm talking about graphic files (NCGR) which have a NSCR attached. Let's see what happens when I try to edit these:

Any idea on how to fix this?

Thank you very much!

That "tile space reset" means nscr file was changed,
so you need both edited files in your rom. Atleast
that's how I did it in AAI2.

Yes, I completely forgot adding the new NSCR file. Thanks for pointing that out.

However... it's still weird...

Perhaps that text is too big and
it needs to be same size as in original.

How does ncgr look without nscr in ct2?

It looks like this:

I've tried reducing the size of the text and the result was pretty much the same.

I have not used tile composition tool for this image because it is a map and not a tile... so just right click > export, then I edit it with Photoshop and with the palette I have exported from the NCLR and finally Import into CT2 again.

Sure. (Originally, this was not a NARC file but a PAC file, but I was told in other thread that I should create NARC files so as to be able to edit them in CT2)

This is test. If this works, you should use tile composition tool.

Btw, is there another nscr file which creates the bg?
That might screw this graphic and reasong why you
should use tile composition tool, because there are
actually 2 graphics in one file.

Could you explain me exactly how did you do that? D:

I think I didn't understand you very well... With Tile composition tool I cannot drag and drop the picture because it is a map and not a tile, and if I open it as a tile then the picture is distorted and cannot be edited.

Thank you very much ;)

You need to open it as tile. Basically it is jigsaw puzzle.
You need to remove red areas and bg stuff and move pieces in right places.
This is the one I used for test, but I might have removed too much stuff and I didn't move pieces.
You just drag pieces with mouse.

You shouldn't open nscr with ct2 to make this work.

May I ask you which settings are you using in CT2 to display the image in that way?

This is the best I've got... The palette is applied but it is not displaying correctly :S

You need to choose palette from Palette tab.
Click third lowest row from color table I think to change right palette.

It seems I'm a complete retard haha, I can't apply any editions to the file.

I've isolated the text like this...

xcq1phv.png

However, I can't import anything to the Tile Composer. When I press import and select my new file it does not change.

For instance, this is a test: (I deleted a letter with one of the colors from the palette)

T2Pqu48.png

But even with such a slight change I can't import it...

What am I doing wrong? :S

That looks like palette problem. You have more colors in your edited version.
You can only use colors that are in nondotted area.

Choose both dot colors and make color layer with completely different color, for example red.

Try save for web in original bmp. Choose png. Have your edited one as hidden layer.
There should be 16 colors. Lock those colors from color table.
Press done from bottom. Unhide your layer. Save for web again. Make sure it says 16 colors.
Save. Open png. Copy everything else except red to your bmp.

That should do the trick.
